Actually those straight leg jeans are mid rise. New york is full ankle boots and skinnies , i think it looks yuck. Well , for pear shaped bodies , skinnies arent exactly flattering , esp with a high waist IMO , Im a size 6 US with a little baby fat , I tried on those miss sixty jeans lol , I looked ....welll lets not talk about that but I found an at rise jean (9-10 inch rise) with thin-to medium weight denim does wonders for your figure , esp with a little heel , I felt really tall and smart. Skinnies are fun but for me , I feel like im trying to hard to be teenager or rocker chick lol.

I really like these jeans from 7 ,they have metal ring at the back it looks really nice, it looks like the Ginger jean which Rbil wore but I really like this

I got pear shape body and skinnies flatter me IMO.. I was suprised these grey high waist Weekday brand ones fit so well on me. I feel like my legs are longer, maybe the pic doesnt show right angle but thats how it looks in real life.. And my bf is my best judge, he will tell honestly if I look big or not, and he said I looked good and skinny in those.

Im still hesitant on the wide leg high waist ones. I think I will try maybe the pants form of this look (as in my last post) and not in denim form.. too close history for me ('99-'00)

I found some really cool looking flares from Mango out of all places! Its out of the Penolope and MOnica Cruz range, pretty perfect apart from the back bit having a bit of extra room. Really considering getting them though... Question: Does anyone wear their flares with flats???

Thats what I would like to know too.. like lets say the A-shape high waist pants I posted on the last page. If they would be a bit longer, what kind of shoes would you wear those with?

I think the problem is that you have to kind of pick flats or heels or otherwise fold! Ill have a look at yours Miss. But i would think that flares worn with heels, the pant would have to cover to the ground pretty much.

Miss6o I had a look at the jeans, I would say that they would look really good with flats. My personal opinion.. I have a similar pair for work and they tend to make the outfit casual and chic. Im quite tall though, so i think thats another factor with the length. Good choice though!

Now that we have snow in Finland, it comes so handy to have skinny tapered jeans instead of the flares. I remember the leg always getting soaking wet on my bellbottoms. With skinny jeans, no problem there.

yeah thats true in heavy snow skinnies can be useful , but come summer and spring , your flares will keep things cool , skinnies are like long johns they can keep you really warm but in summer esp BIG NO NO , esp black skinnies .
Your boyfriend just like all bfs is just being super nice , lots of mine were like that lol . Go to the what not to wear Tracy London or any denim site , pear shapes have to be bottom balanced . YOu said your really tall so , that can change the whole equation. Well , its good to be different, variety is the spice of life. Thats why I shifted to other jeans types . I find this helpful, denim tutor on shopbop is pretty good .

All the time, they make my waist look super tiny. Im rather pear shaped with massive hips. For some reason though guys go wild for me when I wear these jeans .. These are defiantly my pulling pants lol.
My slightly high waist 70’s styl flares get me compliments were ever I go.
I lovehigh waiet as I don't have to worry about flashing my bum as a bend over lol. They hide my stomach and I just feel way way way more confortable int them

EXACTLY , lots of people are afraid of new looks , and for petite chicks , high waist flares are like a god send because they make you look super tall and you can hide your heels , and make your *** look like a peach . My cousins who wore petite wore them for that reason , the use to wear high waised wrangler flares , check this video to see what i mean at 0:45 and 1:44 , very sexy and sophisticated , I love the long flow line these jeans create.

A lot of celebs, like Sienna Miller , Kate Bosworth have been pairing high waist jeans with cowgirl tops , I see where they got the inspiration . There also high waist skinny spandex jeans , where Charlies angels play disco sluts , the look hot in those too lol. see 0:25 and 1:20

I'm approximately 5'4.

Somebody mentioned that the JBrands looked a bit short. I was wearing them with 3 1/2" platforms. Here I'm wearing them with approx 2" heels. So the hem comes more to the ground.

i think the full legged high waisted ones would be great if longer. i needs to totally cover the shoe---like if a woman stole her husband's dress pants.

I think skinny pants can elongate the leg--depends on the leg.I have also seen girls look fat due to widelegged pants.

I guess you can't see the video I posted? It's a youtube vid of Serge Gainsbourg dancing with a couple of girls. Their jeans look straight legged, or they could be skinnies I guess.

The Doll's inseam is 35".

haute femme, thx! As far as outfits, I want to stick to shorter tops like the AA one I'm wearing in the pic. Or tucked in blouses. To better show a long leg. I'll have to do some shopping on that front. I'm used to wearing longer shirts over my skinnies.

I think the higher waist definitely helps. It's what kept me from getting JBrand's Lovestory instead. Same style, but low rise.
