i love this look head to toe. I also think a small bag is great with some voluminous pants.

I don't think it's a look for me that'll work personally but Club Monaco has really, really great high waist styles right now and they're cheap!

I'll post somebody in them on my site next week.

the problem with such monster flares is they only work with smaller chested women, just like full skirts.

I prefer the high waisted straight legs at club monaco right now. they look soo goood on.

Has anyone tried the Marc by Marc Jacobs Brooke jeans? (in light wash) They appear to have a really good fit..

It's funny, I used to hate those jeans (and still do depending on the design) but my aunt bought me such a nice pair... It's skinny and the butt does not look flat because it is a bit lower on the back... and it does not look like mom jeans because it's a very nice, different desing. I love it :D

It's hard to pull it off, though...

im curvy and big chested , I look awesome in flares , I think it depends on the brand , the fit , and the person , its really subjective .

I really like the high waisted look, but in pants I feel like you have to be so thin to pull to it off... everytime I try on high-waisted jeans I feel like my hips and thighs look huge.

^^^ are you talking about jeans or pants , high waisted pants ( 11 inch rise plus) are much easier to pull off than jeans of the same rise because the fabric is more fluid. I think your wearing very fitted high waists , you should go for a more A line shape jean , high waist skinnys are the hardest to pull but those who do pull them off look very sexy in them.

disco do you think you could post a pic of you in your fav pair of high waist jeans? it sounds like a friend of mine has the same figure as you and I'm trying to convince her that she will look fab in a pair of high waist jeans (flares)!!

I'm talking about jeans. I've never actually tried on high-waist pants, I guess... I really like the high waist skinny look but i could never pull that off. even flares (but I've only ever tried on tight-fitting) i still feel like my hips/thighs look large... theres just more emphasis on the hip/thigh area with high waists than low-cut, I think.
I'm also just really paranoid when it comes to jeans, and it takes me foorever to find ones that I think are flattering... so I might have just not found the right pair yet!

ok for you girls out there , who want warm up to the higher waist (face its here to say) , try a mid rise or regular rise jean , meaning the jean should be 1.5-2 inches below your waist or a 9-9.5 inch rise , secondly ,dont go for mid or light weight jean ,meaning dont go for thick cardboard denim ( a common problem with cheaper denim) . Really high waists or corseted jeans like miss60 are a bit harder to pull of and are more for party wear . http://shop.guess.com/ProductDetail...=1&rpt=Department.aspx&pt=ProductListing.aspx

I like this jean , its very summery , its an everday higher waist jean , a more practical version of the higher waist as compared to what we see on runways

YEah it takes forever to find the right jeans , when skinnies came out , I tried 30-4pairs , most had that scrunchy leg (WHICH I HATE ) , i ended up with siwy rose. The same thing goes for high waists , except your dealing with an insane variety , rises range from 9-13 inches , leg types , from skinny , straight (vintage 70s style not relaxed seat ) , flares ,and wide leg , then details. Another thing when you go try out jeans wear a heel , to see how it looks or borrow some from the store, just trying on jeans barefoot isnt a good idea IMO.

i think i know what you mean about the high waists and big chested girls being off. i think it depends on the person.
if the person is big chested and big, square stomached, with a flat bum, they do look like an old mother hen.

disco, have you tried the siwy- kate high waist? I am curious to see what you think, since it's a straighter leg. I bought them in black now and I want another color. It's my favorite brand and so I am sticking to it. I just can't find any other colors.

My little sister got a pair of high waisted skinny jeans at H&M (the model is called SQINNY) and they look very cute on her. She is a 24 inch waist though, so of course she can pull it off.. :innocent:

LOST ...you bought high waist jeans lol , thats what i say never say never, you succumbed finally lol . hmm high siwy crops , how high are they btw?? I checked their website , i like the celine and kate but i still only wear skinnies for boots , that too cropped skinnies .

Another trend which is looming on the horizon is 2 tone denim , i think it looks really nice . http://www.shopbop.com/chastity-wid...223.htm?folderID=2534374302029428&fm=whatsnew

the kate jean is similar to late 70s style type of jean, its seems to be 11-12 inch rise judging from the pic. It sort of reminds me of the acne jeans too but those tend to be are ridiculously high waisted.

disco--- my issue with the full leg is it makes it seem like the bottom half of me is as big as the top. i am a 24/25 but am a full d-cup. i assumed by wearing a skinny pant, it would emphasize my thin legs.

are you curvy in general, or just up top?
