High Waisted Skirts

It seems both the pencil and fuller skirted varieties are going to be big for Spring. I'm thinking of Miu Miu specifically here.

I think a semi-high waisted pleated skirt with a deconstructed yet elegant blouse and black stockings could look amazing. As long as the look is paired with a powerful set of heels. B)

Maybe the dislike of high-waisted skirts probably comes from me imagining slim high-waisted skirts. Part of me just thinks that the proportions can be wrong with these specific skirts. These probably wouldn't work if you had a really large belly that seemed to really destroy your silhouette when wearing the wrong bottoms by engulfing your waist. I think it's called the "muffin effect," but I'm not sure.

I'm okay with most of these high-waisted skirts. I'd still go with high-waisted trousers as my only high-waisted bottoms if I were a lady. Kind of like this lovely Neiman Marcus look: { http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/c...ed&srccode=cii_10043468&cpncode=07-44765120-2 }.

most guys dont like anything girly/cute...flats, empire dresses, bows, etc.

I like the high waisted skirts. At first I thought it was ugly but i've seen a lot of people pull it off really well. If you have a slight pooch you can hide it when wearing a high waisted pencil skirt. Express has some cute ones at the moment.

that's so funny... i have a couple of high-waisted pencil skirts that i LOVE to wear, but whenever i do my husband always gives me this look -->

he never notices or comments on what i wear really, but the high waist just confuses him for some reason... he doesn't get it AT ALL. don't really care, though

its really bizaare thing. Because i feel like there is a transition period, like what you were saying Crepebacksatin, men look at you and think you're crazy with the pencil skirt. Yet slowly a lot of men over time have compliment me on wearing one... now they dislike the shorter skirts and shorts... call me hopefull but im thinking its the transition stage!
