High Waisted Jeans #1

High-waisted jeans... a second opinion...

I went out to Pasadena Town Square (Pasadena, Texas) this past Saturday. The Macy's at this once interesting mall (it's a Foley's here) had some jeans I thought were high-waisted. I like wider legs as well as clean looks for women's denim jeans. I don't know what the jeans maker was, but the pair I saw were cute to me. It had like four small pockets along the waistline of the jeans (two on each side on the front). The denim was somewhat of an indigo blue. Very nice high-waisted jeans, though I don't have a concrete idea of who made those jeans. As for jeans from a maker I've found, I think you got yourself one heck of a deal gia0202 getting those jeans. Jeans and sneakers (not only lace-up snekaers) go together quite well. But with those expensive jeans, I'm sure those jeans beg to be worn with sandals, pumps, chic boots, and stuff like that. A good pair of shoes or boots with a nicely-defined heel will set you up just fine with those lovely jeans.

I guess when I had some hate for high-waisted jeans, I was mostly thinking of high-waist skinny jeans. I'm not usually crazy for skinny jeans, let alone high-waisted ones. I'm more accustomed to trouser-style trouser jeans and jean trousers (I guess there's a difference). High-waisted denim are still fairly rare around my way.

^Yeah I think there's different views of high-waisted jeans. Skinnies are much harder to look good in rather than the sleek trousers.

I personally like flares or bootcut the best, just because they suit my body.

i feel the opposite. i think skinny jeans are more flattering on more people.
it's just dependent on the rest of the outfit.
where as wide load jeans don't completely matter.
look at the model above. im sure she is really tall like 5-10, which is above average and I think she looks heavy.

well most skinnies on the vast majority of woman are very unflattering , it makes your bottom look big and hips wider , untop of it they can be very uncomfortable , if you have an itch or scratch and going to the restroom lol , dont mean to be gross but in terms of comfort , wide leg jeans win hands down

but at the same time ^^^ a wide leg jean which is made with thick fabric and no crease , can be bad too but over all from my experience thats what I have observed . I usually go for a jean which is <23 inches and a 9-10 inch rise...its perfect for me and lots of women i know

i think the problem with skinnies is it really shows off a woman's cuves. that is why i love them in a mid/higish rise. i love accentauting the curvesin my hips/waist/legs.men love that too. the wide legs are great, but its all about finding the right cut which gives you the golden ratio btw hips/waist/thighs.i prefer having wider hips/thin legs and waist.

^^^ your right.....i have 2 high waisted skinnies not corset style but similar to what was worn in the late 70s and not super skinny , skinny straight , i find them much better than super skinny low rise jeans which look trashy too me now. With the wide leg , I dont like too wide , I like a straight wide leg about 22-24 inches , in a thin-medium fabric with a crease , Which is VERY important because it gives you a long line , and gives you a model like length and a quick high end fashion editorial look , there is a chicness about that too me which i love.

i think high waisted kinnies and widelegs can give you a high fashion look too-- you should remember everyone has a diff idea of what looks good on them--and each body looks diff. high waisted straights don't do much fo me. i love the tapered leg look.

so over it. i only wear them because i own them, and i want to get my moneys worth. haha.

IMO, high-waisted jeans (or pants) only works on the right girl, on the right bod with the right height, with the right top & accessories

"right" is very ambigous , I have seen lots of body types rock high waists with different rises and different pant legs . High waists were de rigeur in the 40s,50s,70s and 80s ,but it has to be done right , but that holds true for any pant or jean.

hmm...I'm really picky about high waisted jeans, I think they only really look right (this is just my personal opinion though) when they're wide-legged, but also with that there's a danger of looking kind of frumpy. I guess I just prefer non-denim high waisted clothes.

has anyone tried any of CURRENT/ELLIOTT 's high waisted jeans , i keep hearing about this brand everywhere but do their fits live up to their buzz.

Who can recommend a great pair of widelegged black high waisted trousers?

something like these, I guess:

bizrate

I want a fairly substantial volume to them. I already have black high waisted skinnies/tuxedo pants, and now I'd like to try them in a wider variety.

I was thinking Rag & Bone, but the pair I really liked from them was actually a Spring 2008 design, and they are no longer available. Ideas?

Those dont look cut well......look to the past 5 pages on this forum , there are tonne of jeans Tfsers have suggested. Personally I fined Jbrand,Seven jeans ,Joe's jeans and Rich and Skinny have the best high waisted wide leg jeans .

Rag and bones are worth the money hands down Shirleybee. The denim quality is amazing compared to rich and skinny and seven jeans. I have been through all these denim brands and I agree that Seven has that ginger cut that fits amazing, and Jbrands are a good fit. The others didnt fit well at all.
But the quality is nothing compared to R&B or brands like acne that are much higher quality.
I have a few pairs of rag and bones and every pair fits like a dream.

^^^ Rag and Bone is ridiculously expensive esp for a person who is trying this trend first time so its best to play it safe , another thing seven and Jbrand are readily available

I love Rag & Bone's jeans and I own a few pairs. The pair of pants I mentioned that I wanted from them was not denim, though. I think they were black linen widelegged pants - dressier. That's what I'm looking for this time. A pair of dressier wide-legged pants.

I swear by 7 jeans and Jbrands , Rich and Skinny too. There is a new jean by 7 called Ombre bellbottoms , its really nice ...im saving for that . I saw a girl in 18th ammendment colbert jeans , and flip flops and she rocked it .........another good brand......but more extreme than 7 jeans...
