dittos 70% off at hautelook.com!!! I'm considering getting the chastity jean..

I did some "window shopping" online. I visited tobi.com to look up these lovely high-waist trouser-type jeans from 18th Amendment. I actually saw them on Kaboodle which linked me to tobi.com when I wanted to see more pictures. I'm fond of trouser-like pants and shorts. Check these out:

This is the Crawford High-Waisted Flare Jeans. They're pretty expensive for a pair of jeans, but they're very stylish. I find romantic value in wide legs and flares. These jean trousers would look great dressed up with either a nice vest, a formal-type denim jacket or vest, or a nice oxford dress shirt. You could probably have girls night now or a night at the nightclub sporting these jean trousers. Some cute shoes or sandals would look great with these as well as nice boots (I'd avoid open-toe/peep-toe boots personally). But overall, you can't really go wrong with these.

I perfer wide legs or flare legs as far as high-waist pants and jeans. Skinny high-waist jeans are trying too hard for me and usually tacky. These [rather expensive] jeans are very stylish for what they are.

I wish I would have seen this in time!

I've really been digging the high waist jeans lately, BUT, I'm curious as to how they will look on my body. I have never tried on a pair. I'm a little taller than 5'4, and around 110 lbs. (normally)... I should just try some on. I am too much of a bargain shopper to pay full price, though, I'm afraid.

Erin, you'll probably just need to head to your favorite retailer that sells high-waisted jeans to see how they'd really look on you. The best way to know if you can work a style is to simply try it out at a store. How do you think I fell in love with my ankle boots? I guess all you'd need to do is find a high-waisted style of jeans (unless you have no preference) and try some on in your size. As the saying goes, "you never know until you try." Even if the jeans are out of your budget or at full price, at least go wear some high-waist jeans and have a look in the mirror.

I'd probably be more concerned with trying out high-waist jeans than paying for them since you're curious as to how you'd look in them. If you think you can wear high-waist jeans, then I hope you find a pair you like as well as be able to wear them with confidence and putting looks together to go with the high-waist jeans. More power to you, Erin!

^ Thanks for the advice, John M.

I know that people should not wear items that are not flattering on them... but I almost want to wear them no matter what... :ninja:

I should go try some on for size (excuse the pun!)

I tried on the most amazing dark blue high waisted jeans from Filippa K...unfortunately, they're way too expensive for me. I just now they will look fab with an assymmetric top tucked in and tall platform heels.

Found a pic, not in dark blue though

They actually looked better on me :ninja:

^ Those look nice!
That model somewhat resembles you though  atleast from what you've posted here.

Does anyone have Cheap Monday's v-fit? I can only find them online and I would really prefer to try them on before buying them because they're a sort of dangerous height... any full shots of people wearing them? All I can find are shots of the jeans.

i'm really starting to get sick of these high-waisted jeans look. it's getting overrated.

^ To me, it's a classic cut, actually... I don't see enough people wearing them... I'm curious as to why you feel the look is "getting overrated"..?

A thing I usually fail to realize about fashion is a comfort factor. Some femmes like high-waisted bottoms (let alone jeans) to avoid any embarassing moments sitting down or anything. It's much like one femme wearing leggings under a short skirt or dress. The comfort factor is there involved with high-waist jeans as with any other such bottoms. You may not like the style of the high waist, but for some, at least it's better for one femme as opposed to hip-huggers or any deviation of low-rise jeans.

High-waists have been rare here in Houston. I can't call it if I don't see it. Only one of my friends wore high-waist bottoms. Well, actually two. One in a high-waist skirt in one of her pictures. You can't call anything a trend if you don't see it constantly or marketed so much by famous people. Only when everyone of various body types try out a style can you really judge it. And since I haven't seen very many in person to say whether or not they are good. Having said this, I'd disagree with "overrated." Skinny jeans are overrated to me (though some can pull it off very well), especially not for those who aren't slender. Open-toe boots are overrated to me. Gladiator sandals are overrated to me. High-waist jeans aren't.

really? i guess i'm getting sick of them because i see it everyday at my school. literally, i see a girl wearing them everyday.

well every runway know makes high waisted pants or skirts or whatever , at some point it will be adopted and im already seeing it infiltrated heavily in urban office wear . I wear low rises at times but I love my high waisted jeans

When thinking of high-waist bottoms, I usually like jeans and pants with sailor button designs. A cute sailor button detail would make for a lovely pair of high-waist jeans. A good pair of high-waist flares or wide-leg jeans in white would be a truly casual sailor look. But again, it's all about what you like (style-wise) in a pair of jeans, even high-waist ones. Choose accordingly and build some good looks around and with high-waist jeans.
