I think this trend came from the Sex and the City show. Then I saw the girl from Real World wearing one. I think they are cute. Maybe replacing the initial necklaces (hopefully)

That one posted seems rather different to all the others more commonly seen, with here the shoe and the chain all of the same material. Hmmm interesting, I don't know, I always thought on the 'trend' circuit, these were going out rather than coming in
