I hate my hair - rant thread

I hate it because some hairdressers don't seen to understand that I'm trying to grow it out. It it completely unnecessary to chop off 4 inches when it's already ****ing shoulder length. ugh

^ i know. what is wrong with them?!
when i complain people say well it grows back! um yeah hair only grows half an inch a month...do the f'n math! basically its gonna take FOREVER and its not like we dont tell our hairdressers : IM TRYING TO GROW IT OUT!

^
that's why I always say to hairdressers to cut less than I actually need as they will eventually cut more than you ask

I wish I could push a button and have my hair instantly grow to the exact length I'd like. Doesn't it seem like hair grows incredibly slow just when you'd like it to grow fast? I feel like my hair has been shoulder length for ages!

Apparently I'm just impatient, because the other day I did the math and discovered my hair grows over one inch per month, when the average amount of growth is half an inch! This is news to me, because I always assumed my hair grew slow. Knowing this, I should have the length I desire by June or July. I'll post back here with any updates. :P

i always say half in inch but im like if you can do a smaller trim than that it would be even better so i can keep it long! lol

I am so frustrated. I have been growing my hair for a year, with the exception of getting some layers in September. I've made little progress, and I've been babying my hair, and taking hair skin and nails vitamins. Any suggestions? Should I just wait ten years until it reaches my goal length, or do something to my hair? Here's a year's progression, with the same shirt lol. It seems that when my hair was shorter it was so much fuller and bouncy, and now, while it looks better than in the photo here, it just is flatter and boring. Help!

BohoBelle - I've grown out my hair a good 6 inches last year and that's including 4 hair trims + layers. A couple things:
*Don't brush too often - comb instead
*Put EVOO on your ends
*Continue with the vitamins and make sure to include fish oil (unless your vegan of course)
*Sleep gently: Satin silk, or sateen cotton pillowcase.

Good luck!

Boho Belle-I think a lot of us on here can relate. I know I can! It feels like i gets stuck at shoulder level forever right? Mine has only just gone past my shoulders and it's taken umm,18 months to do so? From a very short cut admittadly. Your hair might not be as long asyou'd like yet but it still looks incredibly thick!

My hair is sooooo boring. I am growing it out (I want it quite long. at my waist (smallest part of my stomach I mean, not until where my pants start... that's too long for me).
Right now it's almost at bra strap length, but I am so bored with it. It has some layers, but really not a lot. it's straight. It's my natural hair color: which is a weird color. I don't even know what to call it. Light brown? dark blonde? I wish I was in a climate with more sun cause then my hair would become nice and blonde again like it used to be!
any way. I don't want to dye though, i did so in the past and it ruined my hair (my hair is naturally already quite dry. I take extremely good care of it).

so. I had straight bangs a while ago for several months, then started growing them out this summer because I was sort of sick of them.
But now I'm finally at the point where I can put my bangs behind my ears (past the most awkward stage I guess) but now I'm so bored with it again. + it looks weird because the rest of my hair is long and then there's these two parts in the front that are so much shorter.
So I'm contemplating cutting the straight bangs again, but when my hair gets as long as I want it to be I want all of my hair to be long. I don't want bangs at that point, so i'd have to start the whole "growing out the bangs" process again any way...

I need to do something with the parts in the front though, because I have sort of a big forehead i think and now it just looks bad. Maybe I should try side bangs, but god those are boring as well and EVERYONE around here has them...

I hate my hair right now. Really hate it.

Last fall, I dyed my bleach blonde hair to dark strawberry blonde (almost auburn), then decided to dye it with a blue vegetable dye to make it super dark with a blue tint. Bad idea. It faded to the most undesirable shade of green after a couple of weeks. So I decided to cover it up by dying it a soft black/dark brown, and just when I thought the green had dissapeared, after a few washes the black/brown dye faded and the green was still there! I dyed my hair twice during the time afterwards, but the green never left.

Just this new year I used 'Colorfix' (a color stripper -- not bleach), and although it removed the black/brown dyes I'd been using, it made my hair strawberry blonde -- with a huge green tint. Now I look like a redhead with an ash toner gone wrong -- in green.

So yeah. I really hate my hair right now.

Anyone have an suggestions how to get remove vegetable dyes? I really don't want to bleach my hair again. And I don't want to cut it either. :(

Love my hair right now! just got back from the hairdresser and had straight bangs cut again. they look way better on me than no bangs!
and also had some layers cut. my hair feels all nice and smooth and light.

I'm getting my hair cut this week and I'm taking kissablekae's advice and only asking for no more than half an inch off! Hopefully getting some shape in my hair will make it look better

I hate my natural hair. It is cut into a bob, but it is naturally very wavy curly, but not in a good way. It is poofy, frizzy and I can't part it or fix it in its natural disastrous state. I have to blow dry it with a round brush and then flat iron it to get it straight enough that it looks nice. I love my hair in between hair washings, but come hair wash day (about once or twice a week) and I hate spending an hour on it to get it straight. I know, I know, why not just get a cut that looks good straight AND curly? Because I can't stand my hair curly. No matter what cut I have had in the past, it never seems to look as nice curly. Oh well, sometimes beauty is pain, and big ol pain in the stinking butt.

The hairdresser listened to me and didn't take too much off at all ^_^ Its looking better so far. The only downside was the price,it's gone up by £13 since November :ninja:

argh my hair just drives me mad, i need to make an appointment with my hairdresser - but when ive got money haha. mine is in that in between stage of growing out a bad haircut from about a year ago, its too fine aswell, and kinda damanged from straightener use!

I really feel for all of you! I hate having a bad hair cut or feeling bad about my hair. When this happens I start to stare at EVERY GIRL'S hair and compare it to mine... most likely being super jealous!

Anyway.. my hair is long straight and boring. It's asian hair that has been bleached/dyed/highlighted for years =X Anyway I was starting to get dry ends so I got so irritated with them last night and started trimming away.. Well this would have been fine since I am not OCD about straightness and whatev but I have layers.. long layers.. so I trimmed away at dry ends and now my hair just looks.. straight up CHOPPY! Hahahah.. it's pretty funny and it's uneven but I don't really care. Do you guys think I should go to the hairdresser and get it fixed? I really don't want to since I know they'll chop off another inch or so and I didn't want to cut my hair in the first place! LOL!

My hair seems to stay dry no matter what I do. It is driving me insane. I just want it to be nice and soft :(

My hair gets so nappy no matter what I use, it is frustrating so I usually just cut it clean, look at my prof pic and you will see, right now my hair including facial is all over because I'm doing a type of ritual (not religious) that when I can run like I did before winter, is when I can shave and cut my hair again.

My hair is blonde but gets greasy and dark so easily. It looks dry,not silky and is a thick mop if i don't straighten it.I can never leave it down because its so .....bland...and i always need hairspray.

In the mornings it looks like courtney love borrowed an amy winehouse do.:furious:
