Don't really know about income for male models, but I would guess that the rates are about the same. How much you, as an individual, works will determine your income. If you have a good agent and your look is in demand you will make more than having a lackadasical agent and have a look only a mother could love. There's no guarantees in this biz ... only a very select few really make it.
Go to open calls ... things like models.com are for web models who must find their own gigs and are there for fodder for guys with cameras (hobbists and lechers) who often just want you for free and if they pay, they want more than modeling ... in a lot of cases. If you want to be a real model, get a real agent who actually can help you find gigs that pay well.
