stellabelle - I have seen Bottega Veneta from Jacky. It's often good, I think you just have to condition it dearly because of the way BV ages. I had a fake BV and a real BV, and they aged differently. Also, I would get black. I haven't seen his brown and I would be cautious about it.

I managed to convince Catty to send me pics of the Chanel Jumbo Caviar in black with Silver hardware and thicker CCs (thanks for all the input, apparently thicker CCs look more authentic)........ She promised me last night she'd send pics before sending the bag and still nothing yet. Keeping my fingers crossed as she initially refused to send pics of the actual bag saying they're all the same!

Will keep you posted with the pics when I get them so you can tell me how good it is.

crystal, i tried taking pictures but, they didn't turn out well. i can say for certain that the new GGH is AMAZING. smooth with good color.

that is good news, because balenciaga will be releasing Limited Edition PT and city GGH in Blue Roi. At least that's what i read in the other forum.

i want to thank all of you that posted here and sent pm's to me in show of their support in my dilemma with "x". and for those that didn't i believe i had your support in spirit.

just to fill you in, "x" and i came to a quick negotiation. i wanted an end to it as the more i thought about the whole situation, the deeper i sunk into a state of frustration with myself and grew more resentful. i just needed some closure to the whole ordeal. all i evere wanted to do was help you ladies because i know how it feels when you have a holy grail bag and you can't afford the real thing and it becomes your obsession. i've been their myself many times.always looking for a way to end the fixation on one particular bag.
i don't post very often at all but i am always around reading up on what everyone's new "it" bag is gong to be and it provides a lot of entertainment and so i wanted to give something back. somehow i got b*tch slapped in the face by someone who shall remain nameless who, in my opinion, was trying to make a quick buck at my expense. in any case i was issued a refund for less than what i thought would be fair, but more than what was originally offered. enough that perhaps one day i can sell my bag for much less and recoup not all, but enough of my money back. i am still extremely disappointed that "x" has stated that he will not be producing the bag now especially after all this. i am sorry for the members that were looking forward to getting this bag. i'm sure it's a huge let down and for that i am very sorry.

Hmm, I don't like the thicker CCs one bit, but that's kind of a matter of personal taste imo. I don't think either makes a bag look more or less authentic, because Chanel made both. Thicker CCs just means it's pre-08.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but shelleybean had this beautiful brown bottega from Jacky I believe.

he's an idiot. all of that hoop-lah and now he isn't even making the bag?! i guess on some level it's good since he didn't give you the $ amount you wanted and had he made the bag, he clearly would have made the money back. not sure why he doesn't just do this and pay you until you're satisfied.

i am so sorry for all of your troubles. i had no interest in this bag, but it was very kind of you (as it always is of anyone) to go to the trouble (in this case, extreme trouble) to send the bag. the most important thing is that you've found closure to the situation. this reminds us all to proceed with caution when working with ANYONE we don't know online in ANY way. whether that be a seller, a bagswap member, etc.

Hi Ladies, it's been a while since i posted. Not too sure if any of you ladies already know about this, but i happened to be at the chanel boutique yesterday, and it seems that they have modified the design for the classic jumbo flap. It used to come with just one flap, but the newer ones going forward are now made with 2 flaps, just like the medium sized ones. So if any of you are thinking of ordering the newer colours from catty, you may want to check if she's made that change as well!

There was a question yesterday on the ioffer picture thread re: denim transfer on Jacky's Alexas.

I just cleaned all the denim transfer and grime off of my regular oak Alexa with a gentle makeup cleanser by Philosophy called "Purity." It worked really well, and didn't make the leather sticky or change it in any way afterward.

I haven't tried it on the plonge leather, but I had great results on whatever buffalo-type leather the regular Alexas are.

they have improved significantly, especially if you're a bal crackhead of sorts and know every waking detail. the bags before were very good and the bags now are excellent.

as for the latter question - hell yes.

I've definitely seen improvements as well. The leather has consistently gotten better (though once in a while they'll have a horrible batch such as the weirdly wrinkled raisin). The hardware has also gotten better, I have a black Day I had gotten a while back then a second black day and already the hardware was less brassy and less weirdly rusted. The most recent batch I got was with the RH noix and the hardware now is spot on. The color is perfect.

Sweet. Then screw getting a real one. I am looking at my latest-batch anthra twiggy, and I am killing myself trying to find ways that it looks fake (aside from the dip on the bales). I need to stop obsessing about very minor details. I can't get anything else done if I do!

In an earlier thread I believe it was mentioned that the handle on Catty's Artsy was too wide. The trim on her Damier NF's is a touch too dark and I am not convinced that the trim around the top edge of the bag is indeed leather. That said, after looking at more than a few pictures of the same bag from different sellers, this seems to be the norm. I spent quite a bit of time (just a bit OCD LOL) researching the Artsy GM. I have personally owned 3 and none of them had the handle perfected.

If you have ever considered a Palermo GM, I can attest that Catty's is stellar. As far as I can tell it is 99% spot on. I was so pleased that I asked her what other LV bags did she had from the same factory (thinking that I had hit the jackpot!! ) but she replied that only her Tivoli and Palermo came from that particular factory.

From what information I have gleaned from months of research of a zillion sellers inventory, not all their bags, even in the same brand category, will always come from the same factory.

Best bet is, if possible, get actual pics of the bag that they are going to send out. They may require that payment is made prior to sending the photo's because how it has been explained to me that the factory charges them for this service. If a seller uses a drop shipping direct from their supplier, they may never see the bags that are being sent to the customer.

Kinda makes things difficult for us!
