Is Bare Minerals Worth Buying?

Normally I use liquid foundations/tinted moisturisers because it looks dewy. Do you guys find this a problem or are all the people who use BM into a matte finish anyway?

I'm worried about this myself. I'm usually into liquids, but I'm also really interested in Bare Minerals. Is it so good that the powder v. liquid thing just doesn't matter anymore?

I really wanna know what ex-liquid users think.

I've got fairly dry skin which is why I used liquid foundation long time ago.
It's true that I don't get that dewy and very smooth look with the BE but it gives an even and ' polished ' look.
Plus my skin looks better ( long term ) using mineral make up.

bare minerals is AWFUL. i tried it this past weekend after my sister convinced me to buy it at sephora. it applies very thick and clumps funny by the end of the day. i'm sticking to my armani foundation.

bare minerals is probably better as stage makeup or for a photo session.

If I had to guess, you probably applied too much. You only need use a little bit to get full coverage. If you use too much (this happened to my mom) you end up looking like you're wearing a mask. I would try it again and use a lot less. :flower:

Hipkitten, I was going to say the same thing. In the infomercials, Leslie always says to apply very little and she is SOOOO right. It took me quite a while to realize how much I needed to get the look I wanted and really all I need is a light dusting. :D

I don't know if I like it. I have giant pores so its hard to find a makeup.. But maybe I just don't know how to apply it. I have a sty in my eye so I'm saying bye to all makeup for a few days- I don't want to infect any brushes or anything. I hope I get the hang of it!

(apart from the last few posts) it sounds pretty great! does anyone know where i can buy in Australia (brisbane in particular)?

Definitely true. It is meant to be used sparingly. They even tell you that in the BE store.

^ Lara L, i dont think u can find it in Brisbane.. i remember emailing them to ask about Sydney and they hardly have any stores around! Your best bet is probably ordering it from Sephora.com.. though i'm not sure if they ship outside US!

I am totally happy with Bare Minerals, but does anyone ever have difficulty covering dark circles under their eyes with it?

Maybe you can get it off from Ebay if not in brisbane?

^ Does QVC ship internationally? If so, you can also buy it on there.

^^Oops sorry.. didn't know there was a mineral makeup thread

I am soo confused right now...in total dillema...
I'm running out of my MAC foundation and though I love it, I've been hearing soo many praises about BE that I'm just ugh....

*confusion*

oh and to Jasmine<3 who's from Canada and drove all the way to Seattle to buy BE...you know they sell it here in West Vancouver...

just a tip to save you some gas...lolz...

Bare Minerals had been treating me well, though I do get a little shiny- need to pick up blotting papers!

Also, I wouldn't reccomend this if you need a lot of coverage or are self concious about something other than skin tone. It covers up my bumps OK, I've had mild acne forever so I'm not too self conscious about it anymore. It certainly doesn't make my skin look flawless but the evening of my skin tone is really good. I would reccomend this to anyone with mild/clear skin ..Also, I've slept in it two night (oops) and nothing seemed to result from it.

pointup, glad you're having a pretty good experience so far. :D

I bought the kabuki brush yesterday. Even though I've been using BE for months now, I always used my reguar brush. Let me tell you, having the kabuki brush makes a huge difference. I totally recommend it.
