Thanks for the tip! Looks like I need to make a trip to Sephora...darn

Has anyone bought the shading powder that comes with a highlighter or the rare minerals? I want to try both.

I just ordered the Rare Minerals on Sephora the other day and am anxiously waiting to try them.

I only have the Foundation, Mineral Veil and the Multi-Tasking Minerals and I must say that I feel I am still perfecting the technique. Is it enough or not enough? I am still waiting for the wow factor. I am still evaluating this with philosophy's the supernatural. I want to look glowy and illuminated. I originally bought this for summer use since the humidity was affecting my regular makeup.

That said--I have also ordered this Bare Escentuals kit for the summer--limited edition only at Sephora. It is called Go Bare on Board. It is a $159 value for $54. The Gossamer sounded nice.:

I didn't know they made a summer kit. I NEED IT! I agree with hipkitten, let us know how you like the rare minerals.

I thought the Sephora set was a good selection--it included brushes--and the price was great. I also liked that it is a limited edition. I hope you get one, cosmogrl5--I know the needy feeling--that's why I bought mine. I got caught up in the excitement because I was watching the BE shows on QVC this past weekend. I was deciding whether to order the Rare Minerals on QVC or Sephora--and then I found the "only at Sephora" kit and that made my decision. I am really anxious to try everything.

There is an eye kit on both Sephora and QVC that is called Tahitian Sunset.

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P142304&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=5737

On QVC, there are some other "summer-y", "beach-y" sounding kits that look nice too: Stranded on a Desert Island and Nude Beach.

Plus there is a Summerfest Eye and Cheek color set and Fascination Cruise too.

I compared everything and went with the Sephora kit because it was a well-rounded selection of products.

I will definitely post my feelings about the Rare Minerals on both threads.:flower:

i ran out of the mineral veil a week ago, so i went to the drug store and bought some of that Sally Hanson finishing pwder stuff, only to see me break out with lil white bumps EVERYWHERE!!! ive noticed that since using bare minerals, my sensitive skin has become more sensitive. has this happened to anyone olse oris it just me? its not that like i cant wear makeup anymore- its now i cant tolerate any liquid makeup, and i can only use some powder makeup thats not from BE, whats with this?

I have received the Bare Minerals Go Bare on Board set from Sephora and am enjoying it. I think it is a very good value and the colors are beautiful. I did find that the eye colors feel a bit dry but go on okay--I used the Bikini Beach wet on the lid but are pretty and natural and summer-y nonetheless. I have never tried the eyecolors before.

I like  the Gossamer and the Soft Focus True All-Over Face Colors. The True goes on beautifully and is easy to blend. I bought the Baby Buki brush too and use it for the True. The brushes included in the set are very nice as well. This is a great kit to take on vacation--the colors are perfect for summer--natural and glowy. With the foundation and this kit, you would be all set. :flower:

I actually bought this kit as an experiment and feel it is a good investment. I am also pleased with the Rare Minerals and will post about that on the appropriate thread.

My kabuki brush feels too rough on my face, does anyone have the same prob?

I have found the kabuki brush to not be the softest thing I have ever used and had another problem with the kabuki brush..the bristles fall out or come off on my face while I am using it. I really like the bare minerals makeup, but wish there was some other method than swirl tap buff to use it!

Same here!
I've stopped using the kabuki, I know use a MAC brush with BE, which I
feel is much softer and easier to work with.

try using the Urban Decay Good Karma brushes, softest, best brush i have ever used at any price range

i actually find the kabuki brush to be , for lack of better words, a b*tch. lol, i use retinol products and it just flakes up my skin even more! lol, i'm hunting for a new brush! :P

GIRLS! I've beat the super-shine! i foudn that usually with using my bare minerals, that sometimes i would have "too-much" of a glow.....what did i do to conquer it?

MAC blot powder (pressed) it's amazing! seriously!

It has made my foundation from bare mienrals last so long, i don't know what to do with myself......
(Um, and belive me, my skin was oily enough to cause a war.)

Hope this helps you all!

ulta vs. sephora

i swear by bare minerals. most amazing makeup ever. but if you want the most for your money, buy the kit at sephora (US $60). it comes with the two brushes and the 4 powders, whereas purchasing it from ulta you only get the one brush and 4 powders (US $40). either way, i love this product.
