Is Bare Minerals Worth Buying?

You guys totally sold me on the Bare Minerals, so i bought the Get Started Kit and so far, am disappointed with the brushes. I left my house this morning with a red spot on my forehead & i think it was from the flawless application brush. The bristles must have somehow poked me while buffing. I was expecting the brushes to be super soft and wonderful like the dvd in the kit said. It's only been 2 days, but my brushes are shedding like crazy and i end up w/ little brush bristles on my face. I like everything else, it's just the brushes... maaaaan

You don't have to use the BE brushes...

But I should mention that at first a few of the bristles on my handy buki brush came out... but now all of my brushes are great...

Maybe you got a defect set?

My mom bought this stuff and she oves it.

She can't aford to get it right now so she is using this stuff (I posted about it in the Budget makeup thread)

It's Physicians Formula. it's great. She say's it's just like BM.

Some shedding is to be expected with any new brush. I've never had a new brush - BE or otherwise - not shed. I think Luna may be right in that you got a defective set if it's damaging your skin, though. My brushes are lovely. The kabuki brush is a bit stiff (I think it's supposed to be that way), but the others are quite soft

After hearing rave reviews, I figured I'd try this stuff out. I just got the 10 peice fashionista collection for 90 bucks from QVC. I cant wait to see what this product can do for me.

Yeah, my brush shedded at first too, but after I used it for a while it was great!

So far I love Bare Minerals! I have had less breakouts since using it. Now I can't stop going to Sephora to buy more of it.

ROFL! i'm a guy and i use it! i actually started having straight men come up to me and compliment my skin!! Lol, well i actually in all reality hate the fact that it really doesnt give me all the coverage i want =( Hum.. What else. OH! I feel sometimes that also, when you "swirl, buff, and tap" you have to swirl VERY VERY VERY lightly if you want medium to full coverage, as i feel it doesnt show as much on my skin, or the people whom i've applied it to =(

I got the kit! after too many hours of driving -__-! i live in canada but we went to seattle puahaha just for the Sephora. i'm in love with it at the moment! =) i love the fact that i can SLEEP in it! i mean, this is the ONE foundation that i can not worry and just do whatever! it's great!=)
.. it is a bit tricky to apply, but i think i'll get the hang of it. i mean, it's only 'swirl, tap, and buff'

Oooh, well you have to use a little bit. i've used the lotion that comes with it and it seems to help my skin, but be careful switching something that quickly if you already use a lotion on your face... If you read the ingredients on the lotion, it even contains honey, which is an ancient egyptian trick to get rid of zits!

Be careful sleeping in it! I'm sure it's harmless enough to just be like "okay i forgot" but dont do it everyday!! Even i'm afraid of it, and i trust this with my life!!

Lol, it's tres awsome being a guy and wearing foundation/etc, without the evil lines.

When you run out of something, check it on ebay!!! i got foundation/mineral viel for 20 bucks on ebay instead of 60 >.<

^ thanks for the help! hehe yaa i'm just scared i will run out soon i use actually really little.. at least i seem to think =P cause i've only got the starter kit with the reletavly smaller foundations.. and i doubt i'll be going to the USA anytime soon =) but i'll check out ebay if i run out!
yaa , haha i won't actualyl sleep in it =P but i found that iwas better than Phsyicians formula mineral wear... that one i thought broke me out.. i dunno though=P but bareMinerals proves to maintain my skin condition

I hate to quote the commercial but "i put it on and at the end of the day, MY ACNE ACTUALLY SHRANK!!" lol, i'm sure it doesnt happen for everyone, but this s*** is my mircle powder. I do EVERYONE at school in this stuff, and i've never had someone not like it.

they should change sephora to "Bare minerals junkies" because it's always the most crowded spot in the whole damn store!

yes! lol haha it's so great =) oh question. : you know the lotion thing they give you in the starter kit.. it's basically a 'primer'.. right? so i just use it under my moisturizer... and let it dry...

correct?

Well, i use it as my moistueriser, but it deoends oin your skin type. if you have normal/dry skin use it under the moisturiser, but i have oily skin to THE MAX so i just use that and just a little bit too.
