Is Bare Minerals Worth Buying?

Definately worth it. ID Bare Minerals foundation/powder is the best I've ever tried, and I have really sensitive skin because of allergy.
It works great for everyday use. Doesn't cover up too much, but just enough, and makes your skin look natural. Besides it doesn't contage on other things like your clothes, like many others foundation have the tendency to.

I clean my brushes once a week with water and shampoo. Planning on buying the Make up brush cleanser from Clinique in the future though.

i'm thinking about getting the bare minerals foundation, but i was wondering if it works well on combination skin. what kind of skin type do you guys have who use this foundation?

I have dry skin, and it has never made the dryness worse as long as I moisturize.

Hi all,
I just bought a cute Bare Escentuals kit at Sephora called "Go Bare Baby." ($38)

Go Bare, Baby
What it is:
A complete collection of year round complexion boosters.

What it is formulated to do:
Infuses radiant light into your skin so it looks like it's coming from within. Going bare means leaving the heavy mask behind and uncovering the look of beautiful bare skin made possible thanks to healthy, weightless bareMinerals.

What else you need to know:
Collection includes All Over Face Colors in: 0.02 oz Rose Radiance, 0.02 oz Soft Focus Warmth, and 0.02 oz Bare Radiance, plus a Soft Focus Face Brush, and an on-the-go palette box for quick, easy touch ups.

I think it's a great kit and the brush is fabulous. Makeup Alley has 1 good review on it http://tinyurl.com/gnyn8

I've tried this and unfortunately, it sinks into my pores and instead of a flawless finish, I look like I've got flesh colored bullet holes on my face. Seriously, it highlights pores, instead of making them shrink. Not the look I'm going for!

Sorry, off topic but it's DJ!! OMG I lovvvve your blogs!! Too bad you stopped doing conversationsaboutfamouspeople. That was a riot.

Anywho, back to BE. I bought a starter kit from Sephora today (I am a BE junkie now like the rest of y'all) and am ready to start playing :woot: Thanks to all of you for the great posts and energy! Glad this thread is still around...

I use another brand of mineral makeup that doesn't have mica. I have oily skin and mica made it look even more "reflective".

If anyone has an Ulta near them, they have the starter kits on sale right now. :D

I was just at Ulta today. Their starter kits aren't exactly the same as Sephora's (same price, $60)

Sephora kit:
Kabuki brush, flawless face brush, concealer brush
Skin Revver Upper
Mineral Veil
2 foundation shades
Warmth all over face color
DVD

Ulta kit:
Kabuki handle brush (I like this better), flawless face brush, concealer brush
Mineral Veil
2 foundation shades
Warmth all over face color
Glee all over face color
DVD

Sephora's kit has the skin revver upper and Ulta's has an extra all over face color. Which would you choose?

^ Definitely the all over face color. The skin revver upper made my skin feel fresh when I first put it on in the morning, but any benefits were all mental for me I think.

Is it just me or is the Kabuki brush just rough as hell?! :( I assume it's like that because it's new...I found that the tester at the store was way softer...

hey all:

i haven't had time to read the whole thread but it seems like there are two different products being discussed - bare "escentuals" and bare "minerals". are they different?

thanks m.

thanks, i just went to makeup alley and figured that out.

I like bare minerals a lot, I don't get oily a face as I used to nearing the end of the day.
I still like cream foundation but I'll use this til it runs out..which shouldn't be for quite a while :flower:

I really dont think so, I have another brand of mineral makeup, the full line, and having tried both, the line I have is much better.

Bare Minerals is a little overpriced, IMO, and is just the same basic mineral makeup you can get for much less through other sources (but I'm a bargain hunter)

def. the sephora one, you really do need all the brushes and glee is really more suited for pale people. also you dont really need two foundation shades so, go for sephora!

Ok I have to try this now. I bought the eye glimmer in pussycat few days ago and I love it so I guess I just try one of those kits as well. I'll let you know... Hopefully it does cover enough.

i had to stop using BM for a lil while..my face broke out in a small rash by my jaws..i:cry: s it just me or does it itch sometimes? i notice sometimes when i put it on it makes my face itch, as well as when my body temperatur rises...

and honestly..i cant hide my acne scarring as well as th infomercials say..im like mineral application ********...

BUT i must say i LOVE theyre blushes, eyeshadows, BRUSHES!!:woot: ...i just cant wear it all over i guess...:(
