Is Bare Minerals Worth Buying?

Can you use it over any primer? I'm really tempted to try it :D , but I just bought Chanel's blanc universel and I don't want to just let it go to waste...

And can you use normal powder blush over it?

I use Blanc Universal with Bare Minerals and it works well! I apply the blanc universal after I moisterize, let it "set" for 5-10 minutes, then apply the bare minerals. The key to not looking too powdery is to make sure your skin is adquately moisterized!

Bareminerals is absolutely worth buying. I will NEVER wear another foundation for the rest of my life!

i have a fair complexion with light freckles and red spots on the top of my cheeks, under my eyes, and by my nose. both the light and fairly light made my skin look yellow and was very drying even after using moisturizer. and the waiting 30 minutes after moisturizing isnt really convenient. even though it did cover well (and i read a few posts back, it does look perfect from afar) but close up, you could see the powder.

i actually loved the mineral veil, but it made my forehead break out and i couldnt figure out what was causing the breakouts for 6 months, until, duh! i stopped using it on my forehead. i still use the mineral veil over smashbox's photofinish and it works great. but this could all be my skin though. i have never found a foundation that looks natural on me and covers the redness.

I had the same problem... but I started using a MAC powder (in a darker shade than my skin) and shadowed my jaw line, cheek bones, temples, (and a touch on the nose)... this usually breaks up the opaque/one tone look:flower:

My problem with Bare Minerals is that it does not travel well. I took it with me over the holiday and this morning when I went to use it about half of the powder was in the lid- such a MESS! Does anyone have any suggestions for how to travel with this better?

Where can you buy bare minerals in the UK, London preferably?

I don't have the product (yet) so don't know if this would work, but couldn't you put a piece of saran wrap between the powder and the lid?

okay - i just got bare min. foundation for christmas (my sis got me chanel madamoiselle perfume too which i looooooove...but enough of that lol)
anyway, the question is it says 'exp: 03/06' on the side. she bought it from sephora last week so i find it hard to believe that it is a year overdue and they kept in on the shelves for that long. is it just me being a dummy or is it thing overdue on march 2006. i just wanted to get a second opinion before i go aaaaaall the way to the mall to exchange it. thoughts?

I was so obsessed with Bare Minerals for the longest time, and now I am kind of itching to try something new. I have uneven skin tone and just don't think this gives me the best possible coverage. I might have to go off and explore....

I have to agree with you, not only are you right about skin coverage but they don't have enough shades either, I have acne prone skin which I'm working so hard on to keep under control with diet and supplements. However, I still need more coverage.
I'll recommend Bobbi Brown Compact foundation..it's very natural, a little goes a long way

Isn't mineral makeup suppose to last forever?

Anyway, I would exange it because it's past due almost a year!

yeah, i know. well i went into the store today and there were like three other packages of the same shade that were well past their expiry date i was like 'wtf...'
anyway, i went up to the salesperson and filled her in...

I use the BE Flawless Face Case for foundation and BE Refillable Mirror Compacts for Mineral Veil and Warmth when I'm traveling :flower:

Thank you for the idea HipKitten! I noticed those in Ulta so next time I"m there I'll have to take a look:flower:

shoegal2183 the same thing happend to me when i was traveling! once u tap it down on the counter it eventually goes away....i think bare minerals is a really good product and its not that bad..its in a special package at sephora for 60 bucks with concealer bronzer finishing powder and another shade of conceler. it also comes with brushes, and i would recomend it to anyone who has trouble finding the perfect tone for their skin like i do because i am so fair.

^ really? I've never tried that. I can't see how that would work though, but I'm sure she knows what she's talking about.

I've offically quit using BE. The reason being, it made me itchy and
didn't give me enough coverage.
Now I'm trying out other mineral makeup. I still love the brushes though.
