Is Bare Minerals Worth Buying?

^ You're welcome dear. You have given many members excellent advice when it comes of this thread and I know me, along with everyone else appreciate it very much, just wanted to let you know that

Question...

Hey all you BE experts! I have a question for you...I recently bought the medium/medium beige starter kit instore at Sephora (I had used my mom's BE before I purchased so I knew I would LOVE  it!) Well, I was wondering what type of eye shadow color you would reccommend for that skin tone with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. I looked on the Sephora website, but it is a little hard to tell what might work well...and I am uncertain about when I will actually be able to get back to the store as I live about an hour away! I normally wear brown/golden bronze types of colore, but am open to anything! Any suggestions you can give me would be GREAT! Thanks! :flower:

Hi,
I received my tinted mineral veil with the brush and summer bisque 2 days ago from QVC. I tried it on for the past 2 days. I don't have any serious skin prob except my skin is kind of dull and undereye circles . Unfortunately when I used the bisque for my undereye circles, it looks kinda ashy and my circles are still noticeable.

About the mineral veil, well since I didn't get the foundation because I still have my Stilla Illuminating , I used it on top of the foundation. But my face is still shiny (from the illuminating foundation, which I get every time before putting on the powder to set it), my dark spot are visible as ever, my hubby says that is no difference before or after I put it on. Is he just dense  or the mineral veil just does't work from me:( ?

I might go back to my Studio Fix MAc NC35 cause I know my face looks flawless after using it. After all there is a MAC store just opened in our mall.

IS there any tips from those who used tinted mineral veil and the summer bisque ? I am giving myself a few more application and then decide whether to return it to QVC.

Hmmm.... I never thought I'd ever try it... but it sounds like a good idea... Regular liquid make up would destroy my skin if I slept in it.... so I think i might try this stuff (not saying i'll deliberately sleep in it.. but I sometimes have such huge days that i forget to wash it off and just fall asleep.)

Plus, who wants to put on liquid make up every single day? Pain in the butt to perfect:lol:

Another Question

Another question for you ladies! Do you ever wash your brushes? And if you do how often?

Hi
It's always a good idea to wash brushes anyway. I do it once every few months, though, I know it should be more.
Supposed to use a mild soap. If you use a mild soap on your face, you could use that. Something like dove..
Just make sure you really clean it, without pulling out the hairs, and also let it dry completely. I know on the basic brush and kabuki brush, you can sometimes see, little balls of build up, deep inside, so get those too.
:-)

has anyone used their brow kit? I get my brows shaped..but they are really sparse and I have fair skin and I feel they look ugly, but im not sure if they'd look like big brown caterpillars if I used the brow kit so I need a review! (and what about the liner shadow anyone?)

btw- I LOVE MY STARTER KIT!

I use Benefit eyebrow duo. Comes with brushes etc. The key is to do it delicately, and practice a natural shape. You don't have to go all out and totally draw anything on. A little goes a long way.

yeah see my post on the previous page. you are around my mac shade so like i said on the previous page, i dont recommend it for anyone darker than tan.

:o Okay, I have been using BE for a week and I'm hooked. My mom is too! Today we went to Ulta and practically bought the whole line. I thought the foundation was amazing, but the all over face colors and blushes are the best part! Even the mascara was fantastic.

I'm throwing out all of my old makeup....I look SO much better with this.

^ I did the same thing-- threw out all my old makeup! One question, do you use the BE brushless mascara? I tried it and hated it. I was like, "Um, hello Tammy Faye Baker!" It was the only thing in the line I was unhappy with.

What are the favorite eyeshadows of all the BE users here? I use bisque on my lids because it is natural, but I am looking for more colors.

Cosmo-
I use "chenille" in the inner corners of my eyes and brown bone..also along lash line. I use the glee blush or flowers blush gently on my eyes, cheeks, nose.
The gold glimmer eye shadow is the best glimmer ever! It is too powdery, or too strong. It looks intense in the bottle, but if you just dust it on your eyes, it makes them glisten and look dewy..even though it looks heavier in the jar.
If you ever order direct from a store, just ask them to throw in some eye shadows because you want to experiment. they always send a decent amt! That' there thing.

i have never bought any of these products, but I want to. Which product would you all recommend as being the must-have?

glow- get the starter kit- that way you have everything you need to perfect your look. including the brushes. it really does come with alot of stuff. you should really use the brushes they have for the flawless application.

the mineral veil.

I love the tease mascara... it's quite possibly the best application of mascara ever.

Thanks! I have Glee, so I will try that. Also, the gold sounds really pretty for the holidays. :D

a few of my fave eyeshadowa are butterfly and lemon zinger. bark is more of a mineral liner, it is very dark brown and its lovely. i just got a new eyeshadow kit also that contains 4 of the mineral liners. here is the link, its a good buy:

the black ruby one is realy beautiful!! i love that kit, and you can mix the colors in the little wells, and add water if you like to make it more of a liquid liner-look.

I got my Bare Escentuals kit from Sephora today. After all is applied do you just touch up with the mineral veil? I don't want to carry all the makeup in my handbag.

I watched the video that came with it. It looks easy enough but then they talk about all these other colors like Glee, shimmers, etc. Does anyone use so many of the colors at once?

I got the medium kit which came with medium and medium beige. Which one am I suppose to use?

How often do you wash the brushes?
