As far as I know the Étoile line has alway existed alongside the main line? Pieces from that line were/are (?) usually included in the normal Marant runway shows so it's always been difficult to tell them apart anyway. Étoile pieces are usually lower-priced (but still overpriced).
This looks really boring, way too cutesy for my taste, but I think the lookbook itself looks quite nice.
- yes, precisely how I'd think of it. I suppose it's a more junior line in terms of price, but not always in terms of styling; sometimes the looks are quite similar.
yes, etoile has been around for some time now. i used to see those pieces several years ago on yahoo japan auctions. to be honest, much like what her mainline has culminated into, this too was never that generic looking. it's really quite disappointing to see all isabel's talent being wasted on just being another commerce driven brand.
This looks far better than her mainline. I have bought 2 tops from a Barney's Sale with the Etoile label,in the past, and the quality was just sublime. I am always on the lookout for super soft Indian voile cotton, something which was common in the 70s but hard to find now in a world of polyester and poly blends.
