As soon as I heard the news about Isabel Marant designing a collection for H&M - I knew I'd be after a few things. Marant creates wearable clothes. As much as I adore Donatella Versace, the Versace way of life and the Versace aesthetic.. Donatella's pieces for H&M's menswear departs were totally unwearable for the typical H&M customer. I didn't see the point in any of the pieces.

The menswear knit in #46 actually looks really nice and wearable. Already, I want to give it a try - I'd probably even wear it. It looks like something you'd see in H&M today, just maybe with something extra added to it, an usual fabric or design (which is what I expect from a designer collaboration). I, for one, cannot wait to see the rest of the collection.

i think honeycombchild can tell what's about to come.

a pair of jeans per sex? a suit and a coat for men? although i can't see a suit fitting in with the Marant aesthetics. i'm guessing slouchy suede boots for either gender. t-shirts. a small messenger with ethnic details for women, a small duffle with braided and ethnic details for men.

those are among the basics that a designer collaboration should contain, no?

^The print is drastically different in real life on those trousers, it's much more distorted and smudged.

I'm not entirely thrilled by the preview of the menswear offerings.

well, what you expect. it's white jeans with a black and white patterned pullover, which immediately takes me back to the Versace collabo.
