Yeah, I pretty much knew what you were saying the first time. I was kinda messing with you.

Not exactly Japanese street style since I got these pics from a Jap style magazine, but I thought they were kinda cool :flower:

^^ I love those pics. I read Japanese fashion and Hong Kong fashion mags too..they're the best ^_^

I love japanese street style but at the same time I begin to wonder if people idolize it because it's japanese and they love that it's a unique culture and that if someone was dressed like this in socal (for example, suspenders with shorts and boots or whatever) that they would be branded as trashy. Now I don't find this to be trashy at all, and definately some of the really unique street style isn't what i'm talking about, but I'm referring more to the pictures above and stuff which seems fairly generic and common to me and that it is only hailed because it is japanese and not because of the style/clothing itself

personally i see a lot of japanese people and they can't do no wrong

Jap is a derogatory term, but I'm sure you just wanted to abbreviate.

Oh! Of course! That's exactly what I was doing, just abbreviating! I have long nails and they get in the way of my typing, so I try to abb. whenever possible. Sorry if that offended anyone (Midori?), I had no derogatory thoughts in my mind what-so-ever. Being 1/4 Japanese myself, I wouldn't make remarks towards my own race or any other

There's always this one...

If you go back a couple of pages, or even ask slinky_vagabond directly, you'll find a link to a bunch of different Japanese style magazines. :flower:
(And I didn't think that you did it intentionally either Couture_Whore!)

I love how free they are from becoming 'fasion sheep'.
Everything looks so unique, eccentric, but remains put together!
Hmm.
Such a great sense of fashion, these Japanese.

Gremlin :heart:s teh Chiaki!

She was just in a movie with L'Arc~en~ciel's Hyde, it was called "Kagen no Tsuki" (last quarter of the moon) and I believe it was based on a manga by Ai Yazawa, the patron saint of Japanese psudo punk rock and teenage angst.

Isn't Kagen no Tsuki a Gackt concert tour from 2002 (too)?

YESSSSSS. my friend just went and saw it and said it was pretty good, so i gotta go see this! (even tho hyde is only in it for 20 mins T_T). i better hurry since japanese movies move out of the theaters so fast!

but back to the topic, i also read "zipper"... i think that's a man's mag too (but they have good manga in it! incidentally they ran yazawa ai's "paradise kiss"). i think Non-no is a womans mag? there's seriously a MILLION fashion mags out there, its hard to keep them straight... i prefer so-en and HF tho :innocent:
