^ I love that girl's sandals - adorable!

thanks for all the new pics, everyone, and for the article, kit. :flower:

it's ridiculous how much this thread has been influencing my style in recent months. :woot:

I would kill for the clothing they have, especially the t-shirt above. I admire the Japanese because they are smart and creative. I swear I would be so happy if I lived there.

It's like seeing pieces of art walking down the street! Not that I have been in Japan..that's just what I figure it's like..:woot:

Hello all
I have been looking threw TFS for months and months now, but never posted

I love love love this thread! It's the first thing I click on when I'm on the net. I really want to visit Japan to go shopping, how much fun would that be!

Anyhows, the top you girls all like very much is Fafi, she's a French street artist.
Hope I am aloud to post links on this forum, www.fafi.net
I am sure you girls being in America/UK/Europe can purchase her clothing range very easily. Hope that helps.

I love the outfit in the last pic that cereza posted. It's very nice. I would def wear that! :)

thanks for the new pics, breathe ^_^

I notice in a lot of streetstyle pics the guys are wearing tracksuit trousers - and furthermore, a lot of them seem to be...tapered in the leg (like the guy in one of the pics above)? my japanese guy friends wear them sometimes and I don't like it at all! ...I just wondered if these are a trend or boys just being slobs.

Questions for those of you that have visited Japan: Do the bigger chain stores in Japan "knock-off" high designer goods such as Comme des Garcons, etc? (For some reason I imagine going to shops in Japan to be like going to H&M, except that I would actually like the goods :innocent: )

Also, what are the secondhand shops like?

Well I'm not so sure about Comme des Garcons specifically, but I see TONS of knock-offs of chloe bags, michael kors inspired clothing and shoes and with the turquoise jewerly (its a big thing here now)... It reflects how strong Japan's youth fashion is influenced by what hollywood celebrities wear, and what they have... which are mainly from the runways.
on the other side, there are very unique items that you can find in non-main stream stores... many small unknown brands carry interesting peices of clothing, jewerly etc. that I've come to really really like. Since there are tons of tiny stores like that around Tokyo, its great not having to see 10 people having the same bag or shirt on the way to school.

Hmm... second hand shops. I haven't been to one yet, but I hear there are some really good ones in Harajuku. I hope to go to one soon. When I do, I'll be sure to report. :D

one of my friends is on student exchange with my school from japan... he's always complaining about how terrible the shopping is here. always with the "why do people come here to shop? there isnt anything? all there is more of the same over and over again..." his wardrobe is pretty fly... full of odd little tees and funny jeans with twists that make them really unique and interesting...

he's going to go back to japan specifically to buy new clothes, he's been in hawaii for 6 months now and is desperately in need. how funny is that? he refuses to buy jeans here! haha. love it.
