for a forum that promotes an open mind towards fashion, you seem pretty anti-progressive. im all for people having their own opinions, but labeling 'all' japanese people childish short bad dressers is borderline prejudice and totally ignorant.

i totally agree. fashion is an expressive, diverse thing. it can't look the same, otherwise it would just be sh*t.

they wore mismatched piece of clothings, layers them on, and look awesomely good.

I really like a lot of the asian street styles, especially layering of classic peices and solid colors. Ive grown out of all the colorful plastic styles though, and the egl.

No, colsplay is when someone dresses up and goes around wearing the same clothes as a character from a comic, tv show, a singer etc. These people might be cosplaying as someone from one of the many popular gothic singing groups or something, but if they arent then its just street style...

it is pretty bizarre, but i don't like it. it looks like they try too hard.

every other japanese on the street have a very similiar style. the whole country is obsessed with the same look.

don't get me wrong. rarely, i see some with exceptional style, but it's pretty rare i think.
