bleh...the japanese are such fashion victims.

its just TOO MUCH for me.

the 20 years olds dressing as 12 year old helloKitty-collecting schoolgirls look ridiculous.

whats the average height for a japanese person?! they all look so ridiculously short!

That didnt sound so nice!...
You can't really decide your height...

yeah. they all are bad dressing short people.

between you and me... I'm into 12 year olds that dress like they are 20, and are 6 feet tall.... hmmmm? good new thread idea... anyone???

yours and boluda's post are so wrong in so many levels.
for a forum that promotes an open mind towards fashion, you seem pretty anti-progressive. im all for people having their own opinions, but labeling 'all' japanese people childish short bad dressers is borderline prejudice and totally ignorant.

haha ok sorry... if you were reading the thread,,, you'd know i was making fun of this goofyball that posted before me. I'm totaly into Japanese fashion, and not a ******** .... knucklehead.
and, it's not borderline prejudice, its very much both prejudive and ignorance. I guess we all have our opinions, but posts like that add nothing to to discusion. So, you right... but they are funny to read sometimes... its ok to laugh at bad posts.

hello!

i'm happy to be here and read this thread :D
Today i registered this site
i felt more happy because i meet korean

thats a great website, maarit; I first stumbled upon it about a year ago, and spent a few hours there back then

here's another great site: http://www.japanesestreets.com/, you need to click on Street Fashion, it'll open a menu of galleries by date. the accessories there! a jewellery designer paradize, I bet =)

http://www.fashion-j.com/ - a huge website with lots of info; if you click on the link above the girl's with a phone head, it'll take you to the page where they explain the latest fashion trends bit by bit; fascinating. besically, the site is worth browsing around, I think, lots of cool bits and pieces; I loved this bag http://item.rakuten.co.jp/riverflow2/20088/; lots of accessories as well

this one is a photo heavy site, too: http://www.style-arena.jp/english/, updates frequently, and I love the design

http://www.street-mg.com/xnew/ - a site that features three magazines dedicated to the subject; LOTS of photos, so beware, you might get stuck for a while there =)

http://www.theforeigner-japan.com/photoessays/2003/200311/01.htm - here's a gallery of a photographer that spent some time there

http://www.peak.sfu.ca/the-peak/2005-2/issue3/fe-jsf.html - a great article about Japanese street fashion, heaps of info, very interesting, I thought

wow, Hi there!! very glad to see you
and have a great time in here:flower:

Japanese style is truly unique in this world, every person can freely express himself over there without getting stared at by your fellow citizens. I love their guts and weird outfits they come up with....so original.....so unique.....sometimes too much.....sometimes picturebook perfect. I think the males in europe and usa could learn a lot from our japanese counterparts, they are def. the best dressed males in this world!

I agree, nothing fazes them (in tokyo anyway). even what i thought were dull plain outfits they can see a 'pure' or 'innocent' style to it or find creative ways to spice it up. after i studied there, they changed my look on fashion 'rules' forever..

Love all the posts...
something rubs me the wrong way with these mondern day gothic lolitas.
They seem like Japans equivalent of the badly dressed suburban punkrocker. That is the style seems to be at this point a parody of it's self, and usualy badly done. That is, when it first started to pop up, it was truly magical, and today, I think it is a pale imitation.
sorry for the bad spelling... Just a thought. And thanks for the posts ELLA.
Yeah japanese guys sure do dress well. younger people (under18, and even like under12) dress amazing, with often totaly perfect pulled together image and usualy in groups of matching friends!!!!
When I was there a 1/2 year ago there was this look, kogal look. But differnt. And guys whee doing it too. It was like nothing I ever have seen before, and I never se it in any posts... here. or mags. But it's bronze tans, and lots of fringe and big belts, LOTS of flash.
The guys seriously looked like some form of drag, but I'm certain it wasnt. Couples would be together and it would honestly be hard to tell the differnce. ok was that an ok discription???
anyways, if any one knows what I'm talking about... ???? it sort of reminded me of the ealy hair metal days. REALLY tacky, but cool.
