Japanese Street Style #1

For those more 'cosplay' dressers my understanding is that they're not so much going somewhere special.

Rather that for most of them, as students that are forced to wear a homogenous uniform five or six days of the week, they feel so restricted and 'just like everyone else' that the weekend is their time to shine and show their individuality through their dress.

^Maybe it was a few years ago, but I thought there was a bridge or neighborhood where a lot of the more cosplay/goth lolita people hung out? Or am I just imagining things? :D

Anyway, new pics from style-arena.jp!!

First is Omotesando...

The guy second from the left in the long beige jacket is unbeliveable!! He looks like an extra from a futuristic scifi movie (and I love it!!)

And now the very inspiring (except for that pink flower) ladies of Shibuya...

Luxury, I always appreciate your posts! You really keep this thread alive.

Some great pics there Luxury!

I especially like the outfit the guy with the hat, white vest and dark shirt is wearing on the Omotesando gallery.

:)

Thanks Uchina, Heel-D, and vigge! Sometimes it seems like there's only a few of us left in this thread....
I'll still keep posting though! ^_^

Especially since style-arena.jp keeps posting new photos!

:magic: And like magic, here we go!

First is Omotesando (personal favorite: girl in the overalls)

Ginza actually had really good looks this week (although I'm not personally fond of the brightly-colored one)...

Want you to know I'm also subscribed to this thread! So maybe more people than you think. I know that web site but it's so great and easy for you to make these collages ... easy to see, save and I get notified when new photos! Thanks!! Japanese street style is the best! Italians just copy each other. French can only wear designer stuff. English are depressing and dull. Japanese are none of the above imho. (^_^)

:woot: Thanks for sharing BokuAlec!! (With the upmost respect to the streetstyles you mentioned, I do have to say that the Japanese streetstyle *is* the only one of them that I look at.)

Last one......Harajuku!! (Fantastic looks all around, but I'm especially partial to the guy in the red pants.)

That guy in red trousers looks fabulous. I think the rip in his trousers ruins things a little bit, but otherwise fantastic. I need to try that look. (Makes mental note.) He has such a fantastic face and hair too ... I saw a hot guy at the tube station today in bright red trousers. I've now gotten 2 signs that I must buy bright red trousers!

You're welcome! :) And please do keep on posting. I find the Japanese style in this thread inspiring - I love their mix and match styling, a lot like I do. B) It's great how they don't all copy each other like some people do in the UK.
