Jason Wu F/W 12.13 New York

Nice palettes, both the burgundy and khaki: echoes of Dries and Valentino in some styles?

One of the few young designers who save NYFW!
Great inspiration, very military with rich and opulent colors!

There was some amazing jackets, trench coats and capes (the best in my opinion.
But what let this colection down were the gowns, they were awful and looked cheap.
Is playing really well with the fabrics, essentially the hard ones. But that shiny tacky long dresses fabrics were very low taste.

It's okay, but I wish he hadn't shown some of those dresses with the tights.

interesting collection though it somewhat reminds me of Burberry

First collection he's done where there's some sort of inspiration.

for me only the last part of the collection is looking great the rest- a bit of disappointment and already seen.

It seems to me that most people think Jason Wu just borrows ideas from European designers and has no originality. I politely disagree!

It's the mix of Communist China and Ancient China with a young twist.
LOVE!

i am not impressed with this collection, i mean the styling is great but that is all that interests me. and the runway

I actually don't think Jason takes from European collections at all, he's very much himself, for better or for worse.

That said, this collection is extremely awkward and flat. I much preferred pre-fall.

I thought it was boring, a random Burberry collection with a chinoiserie theme. It lacks refinement. The pseudo Lanvin set does not help the boring clothes. Just another over rated NYC designer. The only "Shanghai Nights'" inspired collections which were perfection, was Tom Ford's Fall 2004 Opium tribute and Ralph Laurens few seasons back. This is an epic fail in comparison to them, the fabric on the pants looks so cheap, one could easily find a better pair at Forever 21.

OMG! I was also thinking about Tom Ford and YSL...:flower:

For me this collection was good, but not great...but it has commercial viability and thats what counts I guess...
