Jellies

They may be slightly popular... but I don't see this as a "trend"...

Agree with *Happiness* on the sweat factor.... it's a bit uncomfortable... not very chic either... :ninja:

jelly shoes S/S 07

What's your opinion about jelly shoes for summer 2007?

have you spotted them around at the ss07 catwalks?

personally in the can't see them working much,
they are -still- quite uncomfortable to wear

these have been trying to take off and failing misarably for the past few years now .. it hasnt worked before i cant see 07 being different then 05 or 06 tbh

last year i spotted some MJ jellies around town.. they were semi trendy in a niche way, so i can see why someone is asking if they will still be around.

i'd like to see some ss07 catwalk examples if possible

^^ i have those marc ones in white :) and all the major high street shops in uk did jellies.. dont get me wrong i love jellies its just they didnt really hit the masses unfortiantly :(

My friend has a pair, but personally, I think they're icky. They make your feet sweat and develop this weird gunk  :yuk:

I remember when I was like 7 years old or so they had those really cute glittery pink jelly shoes and I asked my mom for a pair. She said no because they would make my feet sweat. If they weren't good enough for 7-year-old me, I don't think I can do them now.

I bought a pair for a few bucks at Gap and never wore them - they're so uncomfortable in the heat!

They are the definition of tacky to me. But do you have photos from collections to illustrate this trend?

I like them, but I don't think that the they are going to make it into the masses. Which is actually a good thing I think. . .
I only like them when they are child-like though.

Edit - I think we all ready have a thread on jellies, no?

So they aren't stylish. But I still like them.

They remind me of when I was a little girl. I would get clear glittery jelly shoes from kmart every spring and I would play cinderella and pretend they were my glass slippers. If I wore them again it would be more for the nostalgia than the style. obviously.

I liked jelly shoes when I was a little kid....you could get glittery ones!
On adults? Yuck. Plus they make your feet sweat, which it turns, makes them smell. Not a good combination!

That's the kind I used to wear...

Aww... I had a pair just like those only in pink when I was younger.  I loved them so much, but then my foot grew and they didn't fit anymore. I was one devastated child!
