Jil Sander F/W 04.05

I like the way the dresses and skirts "swing out" from the body as models walk. Does sb still do that things now :-)?

Yes,the play with proportion. I love that as well. I think there are some that still do nqth*. Dries comes to mind and the recent Jessica Ogden collection had those kinds of skirts and dresses.

Thanks Scott:-) I have had a look at Jessica Ogden SS 04 collection.

And so this :-) came to my mind.

I had to think back on this collection yesterday and I felt it was one of the most beautiful and relevant ones she has designed. I really like how she was adding more gentle and poetic touches to her clothes after her return, while keeping it impeccably tailored. This is beautiful and feminine, but it isn't cold or too forbiddenly-minimalist. I see a quiet nod to Yohji when I look at the way she combined those two-toned men's shoes with that most impeccably cut white bustier dress.

It honestly makes me think that Raf still has a lot to prove himself at with Jil Sander, he will have to embrace a softer, more gentle aspect in order to really 'get' what her vision was all about.

^beautifully said. I see exactly what you mean about the Yohji thing....and I love the way the clothes flow out from the body here.

It makes what Raf is doing seem so clinical.

Thanks so much for bumping this, it's a truly lovely thing to wake up to...
