Jil Sander F/W 14.15 Milan | the Fashion Spot

Jil Sander F/W 14.15 Milan

Another beautiful show by the JS team. I may be going to fashion hell for saying this, but I like what they've done so far way more than any recent collections presented under Jil herself...

Gorgeous collection, beautiful coats and jackets (I loved those with the double fabric). My only regret is the heavy brogues, they feel a bit outdated now.

How incredibly depressing. Such drab shades and the loose fits just disfigure the girls. There are some great coats, but they weren't enough.

That first look is very similar to another from a collection I can't remember. It's a pretty collection, but leaves the feeling of "I've seen this before", despite the pretty palette of colors.

It's trying to be interesting with the placement of some darts, but it's not working, I want to smooth the fabric.

This is so lacklustre compared to the previous collection by the design team, fitting is quite bad for some of the dresses and silhouette is same old same old.

I hope they find their new head designer soon, this is lacking in soul.

Interesting cuts for sure. The team had a much better showing for the Mens F/W collection a month ago.

I agree.
I couldn't tell if some of the pieces had dart/pleat emphasizing details or if it was just a really terrible fit.. I think there were elements of both.
For instance, the first look appears to have been made for someone with a much longer torso than the model. It's an awful design if it's deliberate.
All of the loose-fitting garments were beautiful and I loved the fastenings at the front that buttoned up flat together, but anything vaguely fitted was badly cut and must be disappointing for Jil.

all of the pieces are quite wearable, but who would want to wear them when most of the colors are, at best, drab? the models look almost jaundiced and sickly, which is all too apparent in the first 12 looks. however, i love the jackets and the coats as well as the pants (specifically the last look of post #2). some of the looks are beautiful and fit well, but some look baggy and unflattering. this collection is very hit-and-miss, which is disappointing above all else.

Agree... I also didn't like the dismal-as-dirty-dishwater color palette. This was a really dumpy, depressing collection for me.

The clothes designed by Jil Sander herself were phenomenal; unique genius I have never seen before in clothing. The cut I am sure you can't find anywhere else.

I don't know if it's the color of the picture or just the collection as whole.. but all the models look grey and same for the garments, and the collection look utterly depressing and cold. While the team definitely scored for the f/w 2014 menswear for me, I think it's a miss for womenswear this time, half of the collection especially the dresses looks messy and badly done. the darts and pleats that happened on some of the dresses are very bothering, it makes the model look slouchy, imagine it on any other women, it looks like this placement just happened for the sake of it without thinking about the wearer.
