Jil Sander for Uniqlo

^ i heard they are restocking tonight so there will be more merchandise tomorrow? i really want to check it out, just to satisfy my curiosity. plus i love jil sander

from what they told me at closing...
there is no more stock-it's all out...
but they are getting another shipment in the next day or two...
apparently there was already a line at 7:30 this morning....
a lot of stuff is gone and there is a limited selection of sizing but there is definitely still some great stuff ...
i mean...it's all pretty good...
basic, but good....
especially good for work clothes...
and tailored pieces...

they set up a section in the middle of the store and curtained it off from floor to ceiling with white sheers so it's like a separate jil sander boutique...
it's crazy, when you're in there you really forget that you are in uniqlo...

:flower:

i'm actually cheered by this (reports of long lines, stock getting sold out etc)

it shows that people are going for quality over flash.

went back

I went back to pick up a couple more items on the next day at 12:00 (which is two hours after uniqlo opens) and there was a line almost to the end of the block. I did not feel like standing in line again!

its not that busy now, but i guess it really depends on the day and time. the line is not that long. i don't see how they are going to sell out anytime soon because i went yesterday and there were looked like they had a full stock. im pretty sure they're getting many shipments.

oh and i noticed there's more clothes hanging on the racks outside the "shop" made in the store.. i found the one item i wanted there in my size  didnt have to deal with the crowds behind the white curtains.

you're welcome softgrey
it seems that all the mens styles are already in stores while womens ones out there are 60/100, over here.

Like a moth to a flame, I was back to Oxford Street today. Everything looked pretty well stocked, but I was told that a new shipment was arriving on Thursday and that it would include some new styles ...

the rest of this collection is to arrive on november 3.
this may be only tokyo though.

do u think thay uniqlo are still carrying the jil sanders items? i just discovered the collection this morning and now all i have been thinking about is a coat

they def still have some stuff at the NY store but not a lot...
there are still coats though, if that is what you want in particular...

i'm looking forward to seeing what they will have for spring already!

Yes, I am also highly anticipating the SS'10 collection launch - Luckily they opened a new Paris store right in time of when the debut collection hit the shelves worldwide so I could check out the pieces in person (I ended up buying the antracite wool military blouson and a white shirt with bold black stripes... both pieces have become 'faithful friends' already).

I wasn't too sure how this would turn out next to the highly disappointing H&M designer collaborations that mostly looked trashy and poor in the detailing, J+ however is a real delight up close... beautiful, tight stitching on the shirts, premium YKK zippers and nice fabrics - These pieces are definitely nicer than most secondary line designer collections, such as McQ, Coming Soon by Yohji or Comme des Garcons Shirt (especially since the price is considerably better).

The only pieces I didn't like; the stretch cotton jerseys as well as the denim... but this being just the first season, I am sure there's room for improvement... Also - has anyone seen the two dresses on? I think there's a cotton shirt dress with a keyhole neckline and a belted waist that looks nice and incomplicated... I could see that looking smashing both with a pair of tall boots from Ann or a pair of nice Pierre Hardy flats!

I wanted to buy this, but didn't.
is it good ? i was really hesitating.
i didn't try it on. too many people in the shop !

Judging from the fact that I'm wearing mine almost daily since I've had the arms a slight bit taken in, I would easily say I am more than pleased with the jacket - I could have lived with a slight bit longer arms (they're still a tolerable length, though), but other than that, it's still in impeccable shape (I was concerned that the wool might pill because I'm often wearing a backpack on the bike but it hasn't).

I'm amused about the fact that I am continously asked if it's an early Dior Homme jacket and it's true that the zipper and snap button finishing and cut is somewhat in tune with his silhouette... They must have done something right that the clothes have that certain appeal!
