Vogue France May 2025 : Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls & Lara Stone by Mario Sorrenti

lazy, is this a funeral issue? it looks like a lookbook and i hate the angle. i wish they did a group cover!

also, i can't with this 70s or whatever era they keep referencing with the fonts. it's so over and boring and not cool.

The bird's-eye view images are so off putting, while the eye level & worm's-eye view ones are just fine. (A few of them are pretty good, actually!)

That's the thing - if this is supposed to be about "goddess energy", you'd be down at their feet, looking up, not looking down at them. You'd be in a worshipping position.

Maybe I'm being too literal, but it would be a subtle way of doing things, where words mean something, and there's a theme. And I kinda get that in the editorial. But those covers just make them look bobble-headed.

The phrase "goddess energy" is cringey enough as it is. I've never been well-versed in photographers but Sorrenti isn't the best, is he?

these photos could have been the covers, more impactful and that give vibrations of the old Vogue Paris (even if very far away) with the gold layout everything would have been more beautiful!!! but I'm happy to see Lara and Natasha, too bad Daria wasn't there!!

It immediately reminded me of this Vogue Paris editorial from 2006 with Iselin Steiro, also by Mario Sorrenti but a cheap version (and I don't think it's about the budget in this case, but about the creativity of the stylist and the photographer (unfortunately limited from the point of view of political correctness)

I want to know what makes you believe that this new editorial is somehow politically correct?

neutralized by the recession, Vogue France May 2025 is a recession indicator

They really thought they were doing something with this. Further proof of just how overrated McKimm is; he never gets anything good out of Sorrento. Then again, neither do most other editors I suppose.

I don't see how Claire what's her face has improved the standard of this edition at all. It's now merely fronted by a cover story that makes mediocre use of an A List photographer and model now.

This is faaar more superior, dreamy and aspirational, but honestly, considering it's basically a Balenciaga ad, I think the models look great and we couldn't get the same editorial twice.

My favorite outputs here are all on the editorial, since they again chose the worst photos for the covers. Adriana, Natasha and Liu are the standouts in my opinion
