Keira Knightley in Erdem
Keira Knightley championed Brit designer Erdem at
The Edge of Love premiere in London with this stunning purple pleated dress. With her hair pulled back in vintage-style curls, she looked straight out of the Forties.
Keira Knightley and Sharman Macdonald
Keira opted for a beautiful purple dress by London-based designer Erdem, while her mother, who wrote the screenplay of the film, topped her green floral dress with a chic black jacket. Although the mother-daughter duo got along famously during filming, they had a tiff prior to making the movie over Keira's role. Macdonald had originally penned Caitlin's character with her daughter in mind: "I said, 'You're playing Caitlin,' and she said, 'No, I like Vera.'" Finally, Macdonald gave in and tailored Vera's role to suit her now 23-year-old daughter and the rest is history!
Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley
It was another night on the party circuit for close friends Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller as they premiered their latest film epic,
The Edge of Love, in London's Curzon theatre. Once again the duo stuck firmly by each other's sides and mingled with the A-list guests, which included their mums and designer Matthew Williamson. Rumours have been rife that the party was purposely kept intimate because of Sienna's recent break-up with Rhys Ifans.

Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley
Sienna Miller and
Keira Knightley forged a tight friendship on the set of
The Edge of Love and were inseparable at the premiere, posing for photos and giggling their way through interviews. In the film the actresses play best friends and rivals for the affection of Dylan Thomas. Caitlin Thomas, played by Miller, is the poet's wife, while Vera Killick (Knightley) is his childhood sweetheart. Get those hankies out, ladies!
Keira Knightley and Sharman MacDonald
Keira Knightley may have had the paparazzi following her around on the red carpet, but the star of the night was her mum,
Sharman MacDonald, who wrote the screenplay. The writer professed her love of the poet at the premiere, saying: "Dylan Thomas's words never disappeared from my head. The love I had for him, I retained." She began penning the film seven years ago, when Keira was on the set of the first
Pirates of the Caribbean film, aged 17. The actress was instrumental in getting director John Maybury on board after a lot of "poems, pink champagne and cakes", she told the BBC. So what was it like for the mother-daughter duo to work together? Sharman admitted that she could not watch her daughter filming the sex scenes, but enjoyed the extra time she was able to spend with Keira. The young actress meanwhile said: "I'm very proud of my mum." What a team!
Kiera Knightley, Matthew Rhys and Sienna Miller
It was only fitting for a Welsh actor to take on the role of the charismatic poet Dylan Thomas, who was born near Swansea in 1914. You may recognise
Matthew Rhys from US TV show
Brothers and Sisters, but the actor originally hails from Cardiff. Rhys palled around with Keira and Sienna on the red carpet before ducking into the cinema to check out the film.

A Chanel-clad
Keira had a bit of a fashion mishap on the red carpet as Sienna's bracelet got caught in her long flowing tresses. Naturally, the two friends shared a giggle as they disentangled themselves. Of Sienna, Keira has previously said: "I wish I was Sienna Miller. I watch that girl and she's just fabulous. She talks to everyone and laughs and smiles and looks as if she is genuinely enjoying herself. When I talk to her, I hope a bit of her party personality will rub off on me, but it never does."
