I love when Alber goes dark, and chic

Something very new for Lanvin! Some new exquisite textures for the house without abandoning the Lanvin image! I'm happily surprised!

I cringed seeing the first few looks with the hats. The outfits look like doormats.
The rest of the collection makes up for it thankfully. Many sophisticated and beautiful looks to follow.

This is so good. I feel like Lanvin hasn't really been that relevant over the past year or so but this collection may just change that.

i loved the last couple of collections, this is awful

the beginning especially looks terrible and then how can it end with that fringing that is equally as bad? nothing is coherent

The first handful of looks had be thinking 'here we go again', but the collection just gets better and better as you go along. Love how Alber played with texture in some of the wool dresses, brought in the familiar Lanvin structured, icy silhouette with statement jewelry and then finally those long satin pieces with amazing hats and the fringed dresses. Great, great, great!

So good... In love with the 2nd & last looks in post #2

Finally Parisian Chic! Beautiful, controlled collection... just love the femme fatal inspiration, mysterious and very elegant

i always love lanvin, but i thought from the first few looks that i would actally dislike a collection. fortunately, i was more and more impressed as i went on and i love what elbaz did with the satin dresses as well as many of the coats and jackets. everything is so beautifully dark, chic, and powerful. i want elbaz to dress me

There are some beautiful shapes here, and I like the mood.

Speaking of pleasant surprises, I am pleasantly surprised to see no inane 'Always the same from Lanvin' comments here. As I looked at the pix I said to myself, if anyone posts that 'always the same' crap, we are gonna have a smackdown :argg:

I only liked the printed dresses towards the end. Everything else = fugly. I mean, that FRINGE...

Oh God, yes! I'm glad Alber opted for a more subtle glamour and skipped the flashy statements, but at the same time it still has that bold impact. Love the sumptuous and tactile mix of textures. All the feathery pieces are incredibly gorgeous.
