I think LC at vuitton in Paris would've been cool for The Hills, but I can't see LV execs putting up with that crap for publicity.

and thank god for that! i would have lost all respect for any major high fashion brand if they gave into that kind of shameless publicity..:yuk:

Even though I'm addicted to the Hills (yay drama!) it's so fake. She signed on to do the show as soon as she finished Laguna and then MTV went out and found an internship in fashion for her. Plus, she only does her "internship" stuff when cameras are on and they only film at certain times and certain things. One of my friends was an intern at the NY Teen Vogue offices at the same time as LC was in LA and basically everything you see her doing has been set up by the producers of the show.

The work Lauren had to do for her internship was very real.

From a recent TV Guide interview.

TV Guide: What would have happened if Teen Vogue didn't hire you, or if they fired you?
Lauren: I would have had to find another job. They made it very clear that if I messed up and if I did something wrong, I would get fired, so there was pressure on me all the time. And there wasn't a guarantee that I was going to get hired, either. They waited a week to call me back, and they didn't show half of the stuff they told me — "You're too young, you have no experience, you wear sandals...." I was looking at other internships at other magazines [just in case]. I think [The Hills' producers] would have enjoyed it if I got fired. It would have made for a better story line!

Once again, if you watch MTV's overdrive you will see that Lauren and Whitney were expected to do actual work. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes tasks that were not broadcast on the show. In her tour of the Teen Vogue offices Lauren spoke of having to do research, run errands, steam clothes, and otherwise anything her bosses told her to do.

Also, since Lauren is a Fashion student I see no reason why she wouldn't take full advantage of the internship whether MTV cameras are there or not.

Rich Kids Don't Get Everything the Want

Audiences may believe that MTV reality star Lauren Conrad lives a charmed life. Having graduated from high school and Laguna Beach, she landed an internship at Teen Vogue which is chronicled on her own show, The Hills. But, it seems that charm may be wearing off. When Teen Vogue and MTV producers tried to get French fashion house, Louis Vuitton, to give Lauren an internship, they politely declined, according to fashionweekdaily.com. So, where will next season's drama to erupt? We'll have to wait and see...

I found a full view of the white coat in picture posted earlier

From www.hollyscoop.com
i have a headband like that...i made it out of a ribbon from when my mom gave my grandma a burberry coat and she got a gift box and it came with ribbon....it looks exactly the same as mine. maybe she made hers out of ribbon too :/

Burberry does make headbands similar to those in various colors. They retail for about $45 i think. :flower:

What do you expect her to say in an interview that promotes the show?? And I've watched the Overdrive..thats as set up as the show is!:innocent:

In the very first episode Heidi brings her into the apartment and is like what do you think?? As if LC had never seen the apartment but she'd been living there for a MONTH before they ever even began filming. She didn't find her internship her AGENT/PUBLICIST and MTV did...the "interview" that you see in that first episode was completely fake, she had the "internship" before they ever started filming. Again, I like the show, but that's all it is...a show! It's pure entertainment.
