probably she does well...she has been making money in movies since she was a small child- she has a Disney film coming out "Herbie" and is filming a Robert Altman picture with Meryl Streep this summer in addition to having an album out and doing Saturday Night Live a few xs this year.
she probably gets stuff given to her yes but I think she gets more acting work than Nicole Ritchie for sure or Mandy Moore or the Olsens do.

Her parents were really wealthy, so I'm guessing she gets to keep all of her own. She's starred in The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, Herbie Fully Loaded, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, has an album out that sold pretty well, and makes lots from going on talk shows and hosting SNL - so she's probably got quite the little piggy bank. She's also set to star in "Lady Luck", "Gossip Girl", "Fashionistas", "Dramarama", and "Prairie Home Companion" (the Meryl Streep one)... and her price just keeps on going up and the offers just keep pouring in so I think she's probably not too worried about where her next purse is coming from. And if "Prairie Home Companion" goes off well, she'll probably have a very long career.

So yeah, lots of money, and definately lots of work.

Addendum: If that $7 million figure is correct, and applies to everything from Herbie on... thats $42 million in the next like 2 or 3 years. She'll probably take a pay cut for the Altman movie I imagine, but itd be a smart move for her career and with all that other money she could definately afford to. God she's hot.
