L'Occitane

I just bought the 10% shea butter anti-drying lip balm and the olive face cleanser today. I love both! They also gave me a free sample of a hair mask. I haven't used it yet, but I'm sure it's amazing, too.

I saw a huge gift basket in the store today... I would be so happy if someone gave it to me!

I have an interview with them Thursday. I'm at a loss at what to say, what to expect and how to sound knowledgable. It'd be great if anyone could help with a little info about the store :)

anyone? i think i've read the website 50 times, hah.

Good luck tifa !!

I use dry skin hand cream and foot cream. Both great and the packages are nice also.

thanks :D i don't think i'll get it cos of the hours but worth a try.

goodluck, tifa!.

I stepped into my l'Occitane boutique last night w/the sole intention of picking up a shea butter lipbalm + zipping out in 2 mintues.
Not only did I end up staying for over half an hour, I also gave my credit card a little exercise . . :innocent:

^ I went in the other day and they gave me a free sample of that mask, I will be sure to report how it works!

^ I use it. I think it definitely does what it says its supposed to do- my hair is shiny and healthy for having such long wavy hair. I do the mask just once a week. The shampoo&conditioner in the same line is nice, but I noticed that it tangled my hair much faster and you need to conditioning mist to detangle really long hair like mine.

I have their honey & lemon perfume and it's perfect for the summer time. I'm also obsessed with their almond shower oil.

they gave the vacancy to an internal applicant :( fuming.
oh well. never affording anything from here!

Ok so I've been using the Verbena shower gel and Verbena body milk and loving them  I have very sensitive skin, and these products just feel and smell amazing. The light lemon scent is so refreshing for summer. Definitely a fan! :)

Hi Sephora Socialite, your advice is very clear and helpful! I've read the whole forum because of it. I have an oily T-zone along with breakouts mostly along my jaw-line/chin area and was put on to the Red Rice cleanser by a L'Occitane rep. Do you think this is my best option within the current range? I'd like something to obviously minimise/eleminate my breakouts (mostly irritation/aggrivated breakouts) and calm the oil flow down. Much appreciated!!

I'm not an avid buyer but I have to say I simply love the smell of the Rose Velvet Hand Cream. Shame I could never find one since they kept telling me they didn't have anymore and would not stock (this was when I was overseas). Haven't made time to check out the ones near me but I hope to go to one soon!

Yes Red Rice line is the best for you. Other than the face wash, I would say the toner is a good one to add. That one really calms the oil down with the rice powder and vinegar and has extracts like lemon oil which dries out breakouts and kills bacteria naturally. The face wash washes away the oil, but I think adding at least the toner would make a big difference in changing the skin. Also if you want to get a step further if you really have problems with oil- the matte face lotion is fantastic for keeping the face matte all day. As for the acne, we dont have something that specifically targets them, I like tea tree oil acne spot treatments since they are more natural and a lot less harsh that salicylic acid used it most drug store brands like neutrogena. I know body shop has tea tree stuff and my coworker swears by it, I've tried it and it works. Im currently using Boscia's spot treatment though and do like it a lot.

I :heart:L'occitane ! I have to check the store almost every week !
my L'occitane must-haves include:

-Verbena body salt scrub (it's a little harsh but it exfoliates the skin perfectly leaving it very smooth)
-the roll-on deodorant
- the whole Rose collection ! ( perfume, body cream, hand cream, face spray, shampoo :lol:I buy it all ! I just adore the scent )
-the almond bodycream
-25% shea butter cream ( ultra rich cream)
-red rice toner and foaming cleanser

I'm a big fan of the store in general. I actually love their repairing shampoo and conditioner, it's great for colored hair, makes it so shiny and smells great (more woodsy than fruity). Also it's really gentle on your hair.

I was wondering if anyone had tried the ultra calming lotion or serum? I'm really leaning on buying the serum because it sounds like something my skin could really use, I'm very pale and I've been having issues with redness/ruddiness. My skin is also a little on the sensitive side.
I'm for sure ordering the brightening cleanser, but was wondering about the calming serum to use at night just for extra boost.

I've tried the Ultra Comforting Cream, and it was decent, but I don't remember loving it, per se. I think you're probably pretty safe with this stuff---use will not be detrimental to sensitive, pale skin (which is me, also)---but I no longer use it for some reason. I imagine I was underwhelmed and just moved on.

I'm with using the Ultra Comforting serum if you want to calm down redness. Use the cream only if you also need a moisturizer. Its a very basic moisturizer and not wowing me with major changes in my skin, just nicely moisturizing compared to Immortelle range that has brightened up my acne scar discolorations and evened my complexion, but for someone who is sensitive it is a wonderful thing to find something that is so gentle and calming. Since I work at L'Occitane, I dont use this on my face, I can use it on my body where I have eczema and its the only thing that doesn't burn when its dry and itchy. I do use the Serum on my face when I do get acne and it does wonders for the irritation and the redness does reduce in a matter of an hour or so.

Just FYI though, we just had a batch recall on serums so if your store doesnt have it, thats why. We'll be getting some in shortly. Or if it has a smell, it might be from that batch and have it replaced.:flower:
