Louis Vuitton F/W 06.07 Paris

I don't see why everyone is complaining.... ! He used the exact same formula as his F/W 06.07 Marc Jacobs show (layering, chunkiness, lots of knit....).......! And the color palette is just a bit different, but it's still the same tones...... !

Aside from the hideous fur and oversized Murakami logo  (as though the small one wasn't ugly enough), this is a VERY good collection..... It doesn't resonate LV much though, it would have been more suited for the MJ line I must admit.... ...but it's not hideous by MJ standards.....!

^Agree. You can tell he cloned his collection and made it more refined. It's not horrible but just not what Most people thought LV should be. I think he just ran out of ideas.

oooh the murakami fur is hideous, as are the hats. i am completly disapointed with marc as a whole this season...i never thought i would say that but how can i not?

Call me crazy, but I kinda liked it:ninja:

The Matrix boots, the huge hats, the gaudy metallic monogram glace bags.....it was weird and cute all at the same time.

i loved this collection
i think it was one of the best for fall 2006
it did look like his own line, but his own line was awesome tooo
:D

I know I'm crazy, but I kind of liked the gold headphones bag that Lily D carried the 4th look down.

I love the oversized logo I feel its cute...even though he used the exact same formula in his show, i dont think it followed LV standards...i guess we feel that he can use grunge or whatever in his show, but I and im guessing other people dont like the carry-overs. When I think about LV i think a chic sophisticated woman....ugh...:ninja:

yeah i don't get what people are complaining about. i totally dig it. i think it's great that marc is mixing his sense of humor with the usual stuffy luxury and making those oversized plush bags.

I still hate those bags and clothes. They are hideous. Good music though. ^_^

Adam I agree with u on the clothing, but every1 needs to stop hatin on the bags...I love them :D!

i don't like the fur, but i DO LOVE a lot of this...i like the layering and some of the coats. i'm not up in arms about this ;)

yeah, it is. i think my initial negative reaction came from the fact that i was expecting something different, and it was the same, but this collection really has grown on me. aside from those hideous pink pants, i like it

I agree on the somethign different part...i just dont like carry overs...galliano is good with that too and that is the annoying part. yuk! I hope it doesnt happen again! :ninja:

YEa the music does sound good...haha i just downloaded the show from school onto my flash drive! I cant wait to go home to see it

I thought this collection moved better than it photographed. There was less deconstruction than in his main line (which I thought was a comment on luxury). Somehow, those shreds of gowns wouldn't have been appropriate at Vuitton. But it looked the way modern young women dress which is to say how young boys dress...all done without a nod to what men think are sexy, what Cathy Horyn calls a 'cold indifference'. Things piled on top of things, wearing all the things you love at the same time. Emotional and tribal but more ironic and far more expensive in Paris.

I also got more than a whiff of Yamamoto in there but that's okay, you can do far worse that Japan's design elite. It perhaps is always a bad sign when I want the clothes myself, when they appeal to my own overinflated sense of masculinity. Do women really want to exile feminine charms, to pass over Rochas cloudy soot and McQueen's velvety bosom for this Parsons-esque rich, rough and tumbled glam? Comme des garcons, indeed.

I dont like it, but what Kimkhuu said made me think, there is nothing really wrong with this collection, I just dont like it because its not my personal style, but I can see how someone could like it (minus the fur...) - Also, I dont mind the metallic bags either....

I really like this collection. It's one of my favorite of the season actually.
