Louis Vuitton F/W 08.09 Paris

I think I'm on my way to loving this. The coats/jackets are gorgeous, as are some of the skirts. The pants are iffy for me, but nowhere near as hideous as those John Wayne rounded trousers YSL did. Loving the fur vests too.

Some of the dresses are tdf as well. And the hats, I love the hats that look like half of a black bang.

It's not as interesting to look at as last season, but it definitely has a lot of beautiful pieces. I think I like how un-gimmicky it all is, paired down styling (by LV standards), no ridiculous theme.

to me, the fact that it's this polarizing is testimony to its achievement. there is a place for safe fashion, but that place most definitely is not on the cutting edge.

this is pretty strong, imo...theres a few things i dont like, but i adore the colors and a majority of the collection.

i cant wait to see the shoes close up!

i hate every looks with a skirt or dress...
but i pretty like the ones with pants.... i repeat very very 80s.... it could be some Montana (or Mugler?...), non?

i noticed some coats have a Rick Owens feeling..... in the spirit, more than anything else....

tatlin's tower, anyone? :woot:

wikipedia

the headpieces actually gave me a random Tunisian feeling... i dont quite know why yet...

the collection i kinda love it somehow! and i am mad about the shoes (though i think the platform should be a little lower, and the heel HIGHER :ninja: (better proportion like that, no?)

this and his own line are too similar, i prefer this though.

i agree with you his marc Jacob collection in NYC werent as good as this one... not that im saying this is good im just saying between the 2 this one is better... regardless i like the color choices, the way it all blend it together, love the head piece, it's very edgy... but hate hate the hooker hills and the pants...:S

Ermmm...kinda impartial about the whole collection. Don't really like it or hate it. I think I am just not comfortable with the stupid looking headpiece. And well spotted Royal-Galliano with the architecture comparison!! Marc is not a conceptual designer and when he tries to they just come across superficial!!

Kind of interesting show, indeed, a lot of link to Marc's own line.
The accessories!

they looked better when they were smaller :D

style.it

there are more up on the site, i just posted those that seemed more interesting to me...

hmmm well at least it's more interesting than last season's bull poopy.

i'm thinking Elsa Schiaparelli influences? anyone with me on that? the hats are really provocative!

I like it quite a bit... much better than his namesake line. Then again, isn't it always.

I hate the jackets that zip with fitted bodices. I think Marc nailed it with the fur vests, the first trouser, and some of the more architectural skirts. As for the dresses, Lara's is gorgeous, but the others do nothing for me. The final gown is totally random and uninspiring.
