MacBook

let's keep ourselves updated on the news - especially concerning modifications/updates with the Mac Pro books as I am interested in purchasing one for the first time in my life ;) and it they will get new versions of course I'd like that one !

I would so like the 15' inch one - anyone working with that? how is the 15'-inch-one? any experiences you would like to share?

I have a 15" Macbook Pro and I love it. The 15" is the best size in my opinion. I found the 13" a little too small to comfortably work on and the 17" is too big to carry around a lot.

I personally have a 13, and in the past i had a 12, for me the smaller the better as i really bring it everywehere, that means it is everyday in my back bag, and at home i have an imac.

and actualy i might be tempted by an ipad, to leave the macbook at home when i really just need to show pictures and to browse the web.

i was hoping for news on possible updates/upgrades for the mac pro books!

i am leaning towards buying the 15' - the 13' is too small for me as i am working a lot on my notebook and the 17' would make any carrying around rather difficult!

let's see what will happen until march/april!

I was hoping for the same thing! There's a rumor which says that the next macbook pros will have a Intel i5 processor...
So I guess I have to wait until April to buy my first macbook pro...can't wait!

been searching everywhere for new rumors about the updates to the Macbook Pro line: nothing.

maybe when all this hype/hate for the iTablet dies down we will hear new things.

or apple can just usher in the update quietly.

i'm thinking feb. should be around that time. hopefully....

About the Macbook pro updates, I just read that they will make an announcement this month and that they will be in stores during March... But nothing is confirmed yet.

Macbook may have a Intel Core i3 processor and Macbook Pro Intel Core i5.

I can't wait for those updates!

from what i remember the only time they do announcements is when they are launching a new product. iPhone & iTablet

it wouldn't make sense for them to announce a new MacBook Pro
in Feb and then launch in March.

they will be shooting themselves in the foot,
no one will buy MacBook pros during that time because they know the new update is around the corner.

no, i think they will either release it quietly in Feb (what i'm hoping for)
or release the updated MacBook Pros along with the iTablet in March (most likely)

the online store will go offline for a bit, come back with the option to purchase iTablet and lo and behold new MacBook Pros

i'm not very sure where to ask this, so i hope its okay here. so I recently bought a mac and i just wanted to know which programs to edit pictures, do collages those kind of stuff are available? i mean not just the simple edit options from the iphoto. you know, the kind of programs that are used in the fashion industry probably for the magazine business. I know its a silly question, but does anybody has an idea? thanks in advance :flower:

that's a weird question.
If u dont know exacty which programe are used, i guess probably you never used them.
U can of course put photoshop in your macbook, but it is not exactly a programe easy to use without learning it deeply, and if you dont learn it, what u will do with photoshop in using just vasically u will be able to do with Iphoto, which is capable of doing very good stuff already if u can use properly...

I agree completely. Having worked as a graphic designer myself (though not in the fashion industry), I fully agree with the fact that photoshop is an INCREDIBLY powerful tool... if you know how to use it correctly. And it has a very steep learning curve.

If all you want to do is rudimentary picture editing and collages, may I recommend GIMP? Just do a google search for gimp for mac. Not only is it good enough for simple photo editing, it's also FREE (as opposed to the $$$ that Adobe Photoshop costs!)

you are right guys, I never used photoshop so i'll probably have a hard time understanding it. Thanks for the GIMP advice, I'll try with that one to begin with! Thanks a lot

i have a question for mac users, which i hope is relevant in this thread.

does the quality or the colors of the photos that you edit on your macbooks differ from the ones you do on windows?
you see, iv been having this issue since i got my macbook (a year ago) and everytime i edit a photograph through lightroom OR photoshop the colors look all great, BUT whenever i see it on my sister's or my friends' windows pcs they look washed out and sometimes they even look different! :(
i really dont know what to do since i spend a lot of time adjusting the lighting and the white balance and all, but it all goes to waste :(
is it my settings? my screen? the softwares that i use?

^ It sounds like something to do with the screen settings! I have two screens and colours look slightly different on each one.

Apple Store is updating right now, cross your fingers for new MBP!

+1

I'll still use my current macbook (model before it turned pro), still works like a charm and I pretty much change everything, every 3 years which makes sense.

So I think I got another 1 or 2 years with this laptop :)
