Madonna new face of H&M?

Her fronting the H&M mainstream stuff is a bit odd demographic wise. Her fronting the H&M Viktor & Rolf campaign is not so surprising - could actually turn out pretty well. And I agree with what some ppl have said about comparing her to other celeb endorsed campaigns - Lohan, Hilton and co. They're even in the same stratosphere. Like her or not, the woman is a legend. I'm usually very sceptical about calling everyone left, right and centre a 'style icon' (the term gets thrown about WAAAY too loosely) but Madonna really does deserve that tag.

i think its a very easy way to go for H&M. I could see how their clientele would like her to model the clothes, just because their market is 18-32 (or about there IMO), and they grew up in the 80's and 90's where she was THE icon and holds a lot of weight therfore. so just for nostalgic purposes, i can see how she will help sell to their market.

For those of you referring to Madonna as "old"....you might want to reevaluate your definition of the word or you'll have a very long miserable life ahead of you. "Old" is not a number. I know of many 18 year olds who are much "older" than Madonna....both physically and emotionally. "Old" is an attitude. Beauty and style doesn't have an age limit.

H&M TO DRESS MADONNA'S TEAM ON CONFESSIONS WORLD TOUR

Upcoming Advertising Campaign With Madonna and Dancers to Follow

In a dream marriage of music and fashion, Madonna, has joined up with fashion giant H&M to supply a complete off stage wardrobe for her entire touring troupe including her band, dancers, crew members and the Material girl herself, it was announced today by H&M. With a shared philosophy of diversity and fashion freedom, 'Team Madonna' participants will be free to choose clothing from H&M's extensive 2006 collection.

Madonna, whose Confessions Tour opened on May 21st, will be dressed by famed designer Jean-Paul Gaultier while on-stage looks forward to being equally fashionable when she steps off the stage in H&M.

'Partnering up with H&M feels like a perfect fit. We'll all get to express ourselves in our own individual ways. The dancers and I are excited to go shopping together,' stated Madonna.

Other aspects of the collaboration between H&M and the artist will include a specially designed Madonna track suit which will be available in H&M stores in mid August as well as an advertising campaign featuring Madonna and her legendary dancers.

'This is a thrill for H&M. Aside from being great fans of Madonna's music and fashion sense, we admire her ability to always be ahead of the trends in everything she does. We look forward to seeing how her touring family translates H&M's seasonal trends to their own personal looks,' says H&M's head of design Margareta van den Bosch.

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M, which has over 1,200 stores in 22 countries, is synonymous around the world with affordable, up to date and high quality fashion. The company's collections are created by their own designers. The spring/summer 2006 seasonal trends are romanticism inspired by the early 1900's - clean cut tailoring in light neutrals and Riviera style preppy glamour. In addition, there is a wide range of updated classics including knitwear, denim, t-shirts and mix and match sweatshirts and accessories to complete any individual look.

Madonna, a multi-Grammy Award winning artist, children's author and visionary is a cultural innovator of astonishing diversity and enduring appeal. Her current CD Confessions On A Dance Floor debuted at No.1 in 29 countries. The Confessions Tour is scheduled to travel the world through the end of September.

I will seriously be checking out the Madonna tracksuit. It's her street-wear I've always admired, rather than her premier and stage attire. There better be no damned sequins on it!

Madonna is so overrated. They'll have to airbrush out all her wrinkles in the ads:innocent:
Bitter much that she still looks awesome and very good for her age? Wrinkles my ***! As evidence, a fan picture taken at one of her recent show!

Why?

Don't tarnish one of my favorite stores, madonna.

like Madonna ,but H&M SO CHEAP ~~~

OMG, what has that got to do with anything?

And yes I agree if its so cheap why did Stella sell her stuff there, she must of saw something in H&M to sell her clothes there.

Err because she looked so good in Versace... NOT. Ugh, models are models and the others in the world are not for a reason.

I think Madonna's adorable.

It's a little annoying to use celebs for the model's job... but I'd have to say I think it's completely fine to use Madonna.

Madonna and her dancers... I think it'll be ok. It's H&M, people, not Prada.

I don't think they have many H&Ms in Wiltshire. Shame, because H&M's petrol colourways would really bring out the blue in their blood... though they would clash awfully with all the foxes being hunted.

I LOVE your comments. Good old realistic socialism, with nails!

Too bad Madonna wouldn't be caught dead in H&M.... as for denying her wrinkles... we all get them when we get old... rich or not... saying she doesn't have any without a little help is redicoulous...She should stick to leaching on Britney
