A terrific clip--plus the one on youtube immediately after, which was Part 2 of the opening ceremony. Maggie almost tripping, Zhang Ziyi sounding and looking lovely (although her attention wandered a bit her bow, of which only the beginning was shown was vey nice) severall shots of Gong Li and even Wong Kar-Wai in the audience.

Maggie Cheung to star in latest film from Jia Zhang-ke
According to Asian Popcorn, the new film by Jia Zhang-ke, entitled Shuang Xiong Hui, will star none other than the sensational Maggie Chueng.

The film is described in the following synopsis:

"Just after the Civil War in China between the Communists and the Nationalists, 1950s Hong Kong was a haven for refugees and ex-Nationalists officials. A stewardess at the city's Kai Tak airport comes across escaping officers from Taiwan. Average citizens seek a better life in the midst of chaos and uncertainties. Because of Hong Kong's unique political standing, spies from Chinese mainland, Taiwan, US and Britain have also congregated to carry out their covert missions."

The film will be produced by Japan's Office Kitano, which also backed Zhang-ke's The World.

One gets the impression (at least this one does) that Maggie would look great wearing anything--which is, of course, incorrect--although she does more for a pair of jeans and a big sweater than I though possible.

I imagine that she gets lots of great stuff from designers since just showing up somewhere means press coverage.

I think she's just gorgeous and she wears clothes so well. Balenciaga is not an easy label to pull off but it looks so natural on her. No wonder Nicolas loves her.
