Maison Martin Margiela F/W 09.10 Paris

maybe am i the only one to see this ...
but there's a perfect narration, construction (deconstruction) through all the show ...

from the cloud appears the tears of rain ...
blablabla
!

You mean the polka dot pieces? I didnt think of it like that, interesting idea! Looks a lot less random now

Ok look, I love Gareth and wear his clothes all the time but I'm sorry.... I can't stand for people to say that the designers who have influenced HIM (Marigela, Owens, Miyake) are now being influenced by HIS designs... which were influenced by them... to begin with... ?!

and btw I totally agree with Scott's post above:flower:

just to clear this up: I wasnt saying that MM (the designer) copied Gareth Pugh, that would be ridiculous, I'm saying that this collection is a pale imitation of his former work, and really not worthy of M. Margiela's Heritage.

Judging from the terrible reviews, a lot of other people felt the same way.

Don't think this is as bad as the reviews it's getting. Critics are talking as if they know for sure Margiela is already out of the picture....hmmmmm

I think there are some great ideas here, some bad ones too, do Margiela collections every truly sink in until later?

personally,as much as i have liked what he's been doing the last year's,his mainline really has never at that same level as its former 100% indie-self,since he got together with renzo. it's always been a bit slicker and a more toned down quirkiness than what he was doing prior. so these rumours and critiques seem very odd to me.

I agree, personally I dont think its MUCH worse than last season.
I think its funny how critics are assuming all that sci-fi wide-shouldered genius was Mr Margiela, and not some assistant. As good as the past year or two has been, I could quite easily believe it if someone said Mr Margiela left ages ago.

Perhaps he no longer has a hand in this line, or hasnt for a while. Dosnt mean hes left. Maybe it dosnt even matter?

So simplistic, futuristic, whimsical, ethereal, and dream-like, all wrapped together as one in a bow of Margiela perfection.
