Marc Jacobs S/S 2010 : Jamie Bochert by Juergen Teller

The first word that comes to mind after seeing this campaign: lazy.

Seriously, it's like they went backstage after the show, dressed Jamie up in some 'key looks', added some random props, made her contort in ironic positions and voila!

Marc's campaigns are getting more traditional and more predictable with each season, don't you think? They could have done something really interesting with this collection; like shot the looks on Rinko Kikuchi in Harajuku or used Tao as someone mentioned, but instead they went with the predictable Marc Jacobs advertising formula. Disappointing.

I believe this is not even suppose to be hard core serious high fashion, but...oh, well I hope they would have put a little more effort to it.

I really don't know if I like it or not, I need to see more I think before I can really judge.

The whole set-up is so bizarre and the poses and props so random.......you just gotta love it.:D

Oh God... This ad could be impressive... But it only could, because of Jamie's face.. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna offend people who like her, but I can't get why this "model" gets so much work...

The new shot is okay to me. I'm actually indifferent to it since I don't love or hate it.

It probably has to do with the fact that, looks aside, she's a talented model who's good at expressing emotion and using her body to create lines and shapes. Not to mention that her features have a lot of character. From the little bits and pieces I've read about her she seems like a girl that people like working with, too.

I think people have really lost sight of the fact that there's more to modeling than looking "pretty".

who in her right mind, would ever wear that stupid arlequin short lace pants (or whatever they are !) ????

the make-up is good with the outfits.

but teller is still bugging. the big mistery for me why i can't really always (or often) like his images. i really loved the one with Raquel Zimmermam - but didn't like last season (yeah i know. they were great) and not really enjoying this one ...

it's sort of very Bernard Buffet ... not that i don't like him

one image, at least ...
* don't look at it literaly, plz *

love the new shot, Jamie doesn't look as heinous from the sideview

Tao IS a great idea for this campaign...good eye!

Jamie looks good because you can barely see her face. Anyone can look great with extremely harsh lighting and tons of makeup. That being said, I do like her body movements. I don't think she's the most attractive of all models, but she does know how to model better than those pretty bland girls.

Ughh... Kamila Filipcikova, Olga Sherer or someone slim and delicate would be perfect for this ad. They would fit the ballerina/geisha aesthetic very well. Like if a ballerina just got out of her show to do this campaign. Jamie's face and body is a bit too... harsh for my taste.

But what I do like about this campaign is that Teller's aesthetic fit so well for the campaign. The clothes just blend with the background. It doesn't look like a vintage polaroid. I love that.

This!

She's not my favorite (though I like her) and she's ugly, but she stands out. IMO, in terms of actual modelling skill, she blows most others out of the water for me.
