MET Costume Institue Gala 2025 : Superfine: Tailoring Black Style (The 2025 Met Gala)

I wonder if there will be some models like Vittoria, Mona, Anok, Grace and above all which brand will dress them...

Apart from Pharrell, the other three hosts lack original style.
No Kanye or Virgil for obvious reasons; even Billy Porter, representing queer Black men's fashion, actually stands for something, an actual POV.

What ? No way, Lewis Hamilton has a true style and bring fashion way outside its usual fashion-pop-movie-celebrity circle of influence.

Edit : I demand also an hommage to ALT and a invitation for Edward Buchanan.

I think everybody will do their best ALT impression.
Andrew Bolton said the inspiration for the exhibition came after the passing of Andre so I expect a lot of men in suits with capes or caftans. I expect a lot of Harlem Renaissance too..
A lot of 1940’s/1950’s menswear inspirations and maybe some Josephine Baker take on the subject.

So a lot of suits and menswear inspired looks. I hope the European brands will favor the archives. I expect more original looks from US brands.
I hope some will be bold to wear Oswald Boateng.

Yes.🖤

You don't need to be relevant to score an invite these days.
It would have been funny if Ungaro was enough hype to be allowed to buy a table.

She attended the Balenciaga show if u remember so, maybe they will invite her. But she doesn’t struck me as someone to really be invested in a theme.

To say that Colman Domingo and A$AP Rocky lack original style is crazy. Well I don't really care if their style is original, but they are undoubtedly two very stylish and influential men.

If the Vogue editorial is an indicator, I think the guest list should be more exciting than recent years: Ayo Edebiri, Danielle Deadwyler, Janelle Monáe, Spike Lee, Dapper Dan, Myha’la, Anok Yai, Yara Shahidi, Naomi Ackie, Tyson Beckford, Teyana Taylor, Adut Akech, Imaan Hammam, Janicza Bravo, Alton Mason, Yseult and LaKeith Stanfield.

I hope Duro Olowu and Wales Bonner are dressing some guests. I have a feeling Maxmilian Davis' Ferragamo will pop up a considerable amount tonight.

Law Roach styled Jeremy Pope in an archival McQueen suit for a pre-Met Gala party.

I am very intrigued to see who will interpret the theme correctly. Most times so many disregard the brief and show up in whatever. I agree that ALT is a good place to look for inspiration or even James Baldwin.

I'm gonna blow my brains out if this "archival" nonsense doesn't come to an end soon

I think the Met is the place where that’s most appropriate. The way it’s talked about is annoying, but wearing something archival old to the opening of an exhibit celebrating fashion history seems apropos.

Did Naomi really get banned cuz of some beef with Anna W?

Anok + Vitto are already confirmed <3 I feel like it wouldn’t be unlikely for this year to be Mona’s first MET, either.

Emma Chamberlain and Zuri Hall are wearing very similar looks.
