MET Costume Institue Gala 2025 : Superfine: Tailoring Black Style (The 2025 Met Gala)

She came in ranting about not being invited to the Met, and when asked about what she's wearing she says, "We just wearing some clothes and sh*t." She also referred to Stella McCartney as McCarthy
Oh wow 😬 was that on the livestream? Timestamp?

There’s also these videos of Doechii reprimanding her staff for allowing her look to be revealed prior to being on the carpet & subsequently pulling out the box + yelling at them to put umbrellas on top that have been making their rounds today:

Mary J, indeed on the livestream:

did anyone post any met gala bathroom selfies? apart from anok & laura harrier

I guess we were all expecting Kering to go missing in actions and get no tables / celebs due to the Current restructuring, :
- Gucci: waiting for Demna to take over, 0 celebs (flop era for more than 2 years now...good luck with the -25% revenues)
- Balenciaga: waiting for Demna to move to Gucci, only Nicole Kidman
- YSL: only Miss Bieber (snoozefest) and Rose (typical gen Z kpop idol)
- Bottega Veneta: Blazy out and Trotter in, 0 celebs

The real surprise and shock was the total absence of Versace from the radar, not even a single celeb in sight apart from Donatella herself. They could have pulled a David Koma x Blumarine stunt with some looks previews made from iconic Gianni looks reinterpreted by Sabato Ancora 2.0 (Dario Vitale), but nothing. If there's one brand Who built a legacy over Red carpet dressing and could have benefitted from the MET coverage, that was indeed Versace...missed opportnity? Anyway, maybe it's better Vitale skipped cause this years theme was absolutely abysmal and hideous.

It was a good year! It felt different this time. Not a single random Cinderella gown in sight... For once, I feel like everyone (except a few bunch) followed the theme. Yes, I'm one of those who love it when the invitees follow the theme. It was harmonious. I really enjoyed the looks overall.

I sound like a broken record but I still miss Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Their last attendance was 2019 I believe. Each year was an opportunity to see them (their appearances are rare nowadays). I'm always curious how they would interpret the theme.

I absolutely loved Madonna's look! An incredible homage to herself, Dietrich, and the legendary Gladys Bentley. She understood the assignment.👑🤍🔥

And then she went and slipped into Oswald Boateng....❤️🔥

They have become hermits... The Row has always been a popular brand but I noticed that it happened around the time it became a covetable brand. I guess good for them? They didn't even attend the CFDAs in 2023 where they had won an award. They wore vintage before vintage/archival fashion became cool and what made it special was knowing that they owned those items.

Someone else who hasn't attended since 2019 is Solange. She, like the twins, attended pretty much every gala last decade. I really thought she would've attended this one given the theme - she was spotted in New York wearing Ferragamo a few days ago.

I assumed Chance the Rapper was wearing Versace given how many photos he took with Donatella, plus his black studded waistcoat looked kind of Versace-ish?

Even so, the lack of womenswear looks from them was a shame.
