Dolph Lundgren Confirms Nicolas Cage, Jet Li & Mickey Rourke?

At his official site, Dolph Lundgren has a message posted to his fans that states the following:

"At the moment I'm very much looking forward to joining forces with my friend and mentor Sly Stallone, Bruce Willis, The Governator, Mickey, Jet, Jason, Chuck Norris, Randy, Terry and Nick Cage in a month for EXPENDBALES II."

You can read the full message by hitting the link above. Can we take this message as full out confirmation for Nicolas Cage, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke? Ignoring yesterday's news now, I think its already safe to say Jet Li and Mickey Rourke are in but this adds some hope for those desiring the addition of Nicolas Cage. From his recent interview I'd say its probably still in the negotiations stage for Nic Cage but it appears the production is definitely pushing for him.

Mickey Rourke signs up to Java Heat

Wednesday October 12, 2011

Mickey Rourke has signed up to appear in 'Java Heat'.
The 'Wrestler' actor will reunite with his 'Immortals' co-star, 'Twilight Saga' hunk Kellan Lutz, after both joined the cast of the independent thriller, which is to be directed by Conor Allyn.

In the movie, Kellan's character puts aside his anti-Islamic believes to team up with a Muslim cop to destroy a group of jewel thief terrorists in South East Asia. Mickey has agreed to play the jewel thief who dreams up the schemes for the terror group. Shooting has already begun on the project, which has been co-written by Conor and his father Robert.

Kellan has previously spoken of his admiration for Mickey, when he expressed his disappointment in having to turn down a role in 'The Expendables' because it clashed with his commitments to the 'Twilight Saga'.
He has said: 'I love action movies, I want to work with Sylvester Stallone one day. I was supposed to work on his movie 'The Expendables'.
'I auditioned for it and I got the role, but the scheduling didn't work out with 'New Moon'. And I was just like, 'What a bummer.' It has seven of my favourite action stars. Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Randy Couture... it's such an all-star cast. If the name 'Kellan' would have been up there with them, I would have died happy.'

Margate House signs Mickey Rourke, Kellan Lutz to Java Heat

11 October, 2011 | By Jeremy Kay

Margate House Films’ father-and-son team of Conor Allyn and Rob Allyn are financing the $21.5m tale of political intrigue set in Indonesia.

Rourke and Lutz, who incidentally will be seen together next month when The Immortals goes on wide release, star in the story about a mysterious American who teams up with a Muslim policeman on the trail of a new breed of terrorist in Southeast Asia.

Shooting in Indonesia kicked off on Sept 22 and is scheduled to run until Nov 13. Author, businessman and former political consultant Rob Allyn is the lead producer alongside his son, director and co-writer Conor Allyn, while Mark Williams and Ryan Daly of Zero Gravity Management serve as executive producers.

Conor Allyn wrote the Indonesian war trilogy Red And White, Blood Of Eagles and Hearts Of Freedom, serving as director on the last two.
Margate House’s investors include Cinemark Theaters chairman Lee Roy Mitchell, former Blockbuster and 7-Eleven CEO Jim Keyes and business and industry figures from Texas, California, Washington, DC and Asia. The company plans to make studio-level productions for a price in strategic locations like Indonesia.
Next up for the financier is White Rajah, a historical action epic about British adventurer Sir James Brookes who become king of Borneo in the 1840s.
WME’s Alexis Garcia represents Margate House Films and Java Heat.

Watching the Rugby World Cup with Mickey Rourke

Jenna Sauers, 25. Oct. 2011

Around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, the bouncers started warning patrons of the Red Lion that if they left, they would not be readmitted. But inside, the bar was still serving, and the crowd was not thinning: this was a “lock-in.” Patrons had each paid $10 for the privilege of watching live, on one of the Greenwich Village bar’s many available screens, New Zealand play France for the Rugby World Cup. Kick-off would be at 4 a.m.
Now that the cover band had cleared the stage, middle-aged men in sports jerseys jostled one another in the crowd. A young woman leaned in and drew a fern, the symbol of New Zealand, on someone’s cheek with a Sharpie. A table full of French fans, several in cockscomb hats, was an island of tricolor in a sea of black. A waitress made desultory rounds. If you’d wanted a table, you’d have had to be there by 2 at the latest.

Mickey Rourke had missed the deadline and was standing.

“Well, I was hoping to see New Zealand play Wales,” said Mr. Rourke, wistfully. (The Welsh had been eliminated by France in the semi-finals.) Mr. Rourke’s interest in rugby is a recent one. The wizened actor—who this late evening was dressed in V-neck T-shirt, and a blazer with a fob chain bisecting the breast—is set to play the lead in a biopic about Welsh fullback Gareth Thomas, the first, and to date only, rugby player to come out as gay.
Mr. Rourke was supporting the New Zealand team, the All Blacks. “New Zealand is always the team to beat,” he said. “You talk about rugby, you talk about the All Blacks.”

The All Blacks are indisputably the world’s best rugby team. They are both the winningest and the highest-scoring team in the sport’s history; they’ve won more than 75 percent of their games since 1903. But in World Cup competition, the All Blacks have a habit of losing to inferior teams.

With a try in the 15th minute, the game went 5-0 in New Zealand’s favor, but the All Blacks failed to convert. The score didn’t budge for the rest of the half, as both teams played a tight, mean game. In the second half, France missed a penalty kick and New Zealand landed one, bringing the score to 8-0.

And then, for the remaining 32 minutes, nothing happened. Well, things happened: there was rucking, mauling, scrummaging, and all the usual violence of this game that no-one would call beautiful. But no scoring. By 5:45, the lowest-scoring, and closest, World Cup final ever was over, and New Zealand had won. The bleary fans, more relieved than exuberant, shuffled out into the breaking day.

Mickey Rourke discusses filming ‘Immortals’ in Montreal and a particularly difficult co-star

by Christine on May 4, 2010

On recent press tour for Iron Man 2, Mickey Rourke has got people talking, and not just about his upcoming movie.

First, Mickey confessed that he was less than impressed with one of his recent co-stars. He told MovieHole.net, “I worked with an actress recently who, despite having a reputation as a good actress, s**ts herself when that little red light comes on. She’s fooled everyone into thinking she’s a lot better than she is. Working with someone like that is a pain in the a**.”

But, before you start going through the roster of Rourke’s recent co-stars, you can rule out Megan Fox, who he recently worked with on Passion Play. He explains, “It was a lot of fun. And it was also great to work with someone who may be beautiful and good-looking but also knows how to do her homework. I think people will have a different perspective of her (after this film). It was great to work with someone like Megan.”

Mickey’s other recent co-stars include Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Munn and Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man 2), Isabel Lucas and Freida Pinto (Immortals), Emmanuelle Chriqui, Winona Ryder and Amber Heard (Informers).

But that wasn’t the only insight Mickey had to share. He’s also been spilling tidbits here and there about his current project, The Immortals, currently filming in Montreal. Last week, during a stop at The Tonight Show, Rourke told Jay Leno that he was heading to back to Montreal to continue filming over the weekend.
So far, Mickey has been spotted filming scenes for Immortals in Old Montreal, while his co-star Frieda Pinto has also been seen around town.
Though we haven’t heard of any Kellan Lutz sightings, he also stars in the movie as Poseidon.

Mickey Rourke charms fans in Montreal

by Christine on July 6, 2010

Even though Mickey Rourke wraps up Immortals in Montreal this week, the impression he’s made on locals is sure to last long after he’s gone. Since Mickey started shooting Immortals in April, we’ve received several emails, tweets and comments from locals who have nothing but kind words to say about him!

One of them, Eyal, who sent us the photo above, told us, “Out of all the Hollywood stars I’ve met in Montreal, Mickey Rourke is by far the classiest. He was polite, welcomed conversation, even though he was waiting for his girlfriend, he took a moment to chit chat and snap a pic with me. Mickey is of a rare breed with a huge heart.”

Dave, who also thought Mickey seemed like a great guy, had his photo taken with the actor outside of the Intercontinental in Old Montreal.

Others who caught Mickey hanging out around town commented on how down to earth he seemed. One tipster told us, ” A friend and I were having lunch at McGill Plaza, and Mickey Rourke walked in with a tall, blonde. Anyway, very cool to see him just go to casual places like that.” Well another one of our readers, Alison, was impressed that he even hailed his own cab when she spotted him on St Catherine’s and Mansfield last month!

Last week, news broke that the character of Marv has been written to appear in the upcoming Sin City sequel, tentatively planning to shoot in early 2012. Today, ComingSoon.net caught up with actor MickeyRourkeat the junket for his latest project, Immortals, and asked whether he had any plans to return to the role.

"It depends," he smiled, "It depends on how bad they want me. You feel me? I did [like the character], but I'm claustrophobic, so the the hours of makeup -- You have to keep it on for about 13 or 14 hours a day. It's latex and glue and that stuff that gets my eyes all red..."

Rourke, who is famous for his candid interview comments, also recalled an anecdote from the first film's production that reminds him of another reason to resist prosthetics.

"I remember I picked up some chick at a bar in Texas one night and invited her to the set to have lunch at the lunch break I couldn't take the s--t off. F--k it, I never saw her again!"

Still, Rourke hints that the three-dimensionality of a character like Marv goes a long way. He spoke openly about another, recent comicbook
project that didn't turn out the way he wanted.

"I try to find the moments where [the villain is] not that cliched, evil bad guy and it's a big fight," he explained. "I had it on 'Iron Man' and they won. It was going to work for Marvel and them breaking [Jon] Favreau's balls and wanting just a one-dimensional villain. The performance and all the things that I tried to bring to it end up on the f---ing floor. That can cause you not to care as much. To not to want to put that effort in to try and make it an intelligent bad guy or a bad guy who is justified in what his reasons are."

You can catch Rourke in theaters in Immortals on November 11th.
