Erm...no,no,no. I had enough of this when it started looking stagnant in the late 90's...I can't see myself going back again. It's not me and it's not something I have any sort of feelings about. It's just blank and lifeless,to be honest.

I odn't know, not my cup of tea. It looks sort of lifeless and boring, like you had no idea what to do with your outfit. But I guess it is still better for those who want to appear serious than frilly boho skirts

i'm looking forward to putting my teenage spin on minimalism-
my idea being to expose as much leg as possible, as the less fabric on you the more minimalistic you are?
i'm not talking exposed belly buttons and spagetti straps- hell no. i'm thinking, like, large-ish tops and shorts or smaller skirts.

Well,I understand but there's still a sort of way to move beyond all that without going back to minimalism. Catherine Malandrino(even though she was undoubtedly inspired by others) and our own Zamb Barret proved this well in NY that even though the textures are getting tedious,there's still a way to evolve it and make it look viable still.

I will be definitely glad to see less embellishment. I can focus more on the fabric and the cut, but I will not give up my accessories!

I wonder how this "trend" will translate to lower end (i.e. junior) sportwear. Where as embellishment could hide cheap fabrics and bad stitching, minimalism won't be as forgiving.

i'm not a big fan of minimalism, to me it's return just looks like the vintage revival of the 90s, now designers have rvisited every othr decade. I don't understand how to be new & modern means using washed out monotones.
that said i agree over embellishment, decoration and flamboyant boho has had it's day and designers are trying to find a way forward, but minimalism doesn't do it for me! I'm a huge fan of nicholas ghesquiere- i think his brand of modern semi minimalism seems fresh and the way forward at the moment.

while i'm not a fan of extreme embroideries or cuteness, i dont think i'm too excited about this either, some people can pull it off pretty well but most of them look like they just threw on the most basic clothes for lack of imagination. and, very few designers can get away with this as well, yohji is the only one that comes to my mind, but the new york ones.. ..if they're bad with the bunch of details, the plain stuff seems just as innovative as gap.

I've always had a very minimalist style ethic... I loved a lot of the stuff during fashion week because it was so clean and simple. I wasn't as disappointed as most people seemed to be. Love it.
