Ooo ditch the shawl, and it's totally minimal.

I love minimalism..

Yigal Azrouel did one of the best minimalistic collections this season.. I loved it!

I love it..much better than wearing too much unnecessary stuff.. but I like a little edginess in my clothes..so perhaps this isn't for me. I would definitely wear all those beautiful Yigal Azrouel clothes though..they are just stunning. :woot:

Perfect, very sophisticated & versatilely presentable at the same time. I think it works well worn both casually & formal. I love the Phillip Lim & Yigal Azrouel pieces. Two unfamiliar names with wonderful collections.

^I loved that trenchcoat outfit  One of the highlights of otherwise very boring NYC fashion week.

^ Angelina Jolie is not exactly my definition of minimalism, she's more classic style.

Oh, I didn't know there was a difference  I assumed it was basic colors sans tons of details, jewelry, etc.

Eh, maybe I'm more classic than minimalist

i loved the minimalist aesthetic of prada in the 90s

i don't like it when it leans toward futurism though, i guess i admire it for its graphic quality, but wouldnt wear it and dont feel drawn to it

i wouldnt say i'm a pure minimalist, but i am now leaning towards neutral colors and polished effect, but i still like a romantic feel, i like most of the looks in the paris street style thread, that to me is a great play on minimalism although i guess it could also be defined as hipster classicism ( i think i just made that term up haha ) more than the somewhat androgynous super clean looks

this is definitely a good trend. calvin klein and jil sander seem to create minimalistic collection consistantly, which i really like.

Well, isn't that their "style motto"? Sander has gorgeous collections still, but I think Calvin Klein had its hey-day back in the 90s...at least to me personally.

I'd love to know what exactly is minimalism? I know there are threads for this but I'd love to get a short and explaining answer...I have always thought I like minimalism and dress by its aesthetics (only one or two colours at one time, lots of black & white, if any colours they need to be very subtle,no jewellery, minimal details if any (usually none)...), but I'm not sure about that since I am constatly confused about the term. I do like classic dressing too, but in my mind classic dressing involves much, much more than just minimalistic dressing...and I don't like all of it. In classic dressing there are different ways to dress, not just the minimalistic way.

i like this style of dressing, the focus is more on quality and cut.
