Here's a pretty interesting article from Cathy Horyn at the New York Times about new faces. Lots of good names mentioned:
Now that we’re practically on a first-name basis with Doutzen, Lakshmi and Anja, it’s time we meet Bambi, Fei Fei and Kat. They are some of the new and almost-like-new faces we’ll be seeing next week at the New York fashion shows.

This is crunch time for casting directors, with meetings over the weekend, as more new models arrive in town and people start making decisions about whom they want on their runways. On Thursday, after I spoke in the morning with the casting director Ashley Brokaw, whose New York clients include Narciso Rodriguez, Proenza Schouler and Rag & Bone, she reported in an e-mail message: “Just saw a girl Jessica Clarke @DNA. VERY excited about her. Classic supermodel material from New Zealand.”
It’s all about the “girls.”

There are many casting directors working between New York and Europe, but among the top ones are Ms. Brokaw, Michelle Lee of the public relations and production firm KCD and Maida Gregori-Boina, whose clients include Calvin Klein and Jil Sander. They agreed on some — but not all — of the new models, and they had some thoughts about what differences to look for this season.

High on Ms. Brokaw’s list are Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Melodie at Wilhelmina, Caroline Brasch Neilsen, Fei Fei Sun and Julia Nobis. She elaborated: “Fei Fei doesn’t look like anyone else. She’s an exceptional beauty. Caroline is the full package. She’s got a great body for the shows, a beautiful face, she’s smart. You can check every box. All these girls have great personality and manners. They’re impressive in person.”

Of Ms. Nobis, who is a bit of a tomboy, she said, “You can picture her leaving a casting and jumping on her skateboard.”

Ms. Brokaw and Ms. Gregori-Boina say that clients want models with sensuality plus personality. “I think people are looking for muses, for more than a face and a body,” Ms. Brokaw said. Recalling a meeting recently with the Proenza designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, she said they told her they wanted to see girls with some life experience; maybe they’ve had a boyfriend or traveled a bit. “Things are steering away from the army casting we’ve seen in recent years.”

Meaning the militias of blank-faced models.

Not that models won’t be skinny, but there is a trend toward pouty lips, thick eyebrows, curves and, with some models, a bit of a pale androgynous look. Indeed, some of the girls recall the casting of early Raf Simons men’s shows. Ms. Gregori-Boina says clients are referring to the casting of Helmut Lang, Prada and Jil Sander shows in the ’90s. Among the new faces that she thinks will have a big season are Daphne Groeneveld, Iris Egbers and Hailey Clauson.

Ms. Lee of KCD suggests we might see two distinct model types this season: pouty Lolita, which certainly covers Lindsey Wixson, Barbara Palvin and Ms. Sun; and a somewhat androgynous girl, with linear proportions and striking features; maybe some freckles. Keep an eye on Chloe Memisevic, Ilva Heitmann and Kat Hessen.

Ten Models to Watch This Fashion Week

Despite the many faces that flood the modeling industry every season, only a select few make it onto those career-defining runways. So how do you tell a Jablonski from a Van der Vliet from someone who'll be here and gone faster than Naomi Campbell can chuck a BlackBerry? Listen to us. Really. Two years ago, we predicted the rise of both Lancôme face Arlenis Sosa and runway heavyweight Liu Wen; we also saw major potential in Joan Smalls years before she caught on at Gucci, Givenchy, and Vogue. We know what we're talking about here, people.
So after meeting a handful of catwalk hopefuls, chatting with modeling agents, and scouring the resort shows, we compiled a new must-watch list — the future Frejas and Chanels, if you will. Click ahead to see a slideshow of their pretty mugs, and read brief Q&As with each rising star.

Tayane Leao (Ford)

there's an extensive list in the first post of last season's thread that should be added to the first post here.

The list is partly incorrect for SS11, though. Nat Joos for example doesn't cast Yigal Azruoel and Erin Wasson for RCVA this season. & Reed Krakoff is not the business of Jennifer Venditti anymore if i remember correctly.

adjustments to the larger list can always be made as more information is learnt throughout the season

Here's some article's regarding casting directors' top picks for this season from the 'Who Will Sweep Up at the S/S 2011 shows?' thread, I think they're relevant to this thread too :flower:

Casting director: Natalie Joos

Catwalk Watch: Natalie Joos

Before a model hits the runway—and before she snags her first editorial, her first ad campaign, and her first billboard—she’s got to make it past the sharp eyes of fashion’s casting directors, who are tasked with finding the perfect girls for designers’ exacting visions. In our new fashion week series, the industry’s top casting gurus share their thoughts on who we’ll be seeing this fashion week—and beyond.

Belgian-born Natalie Joos casts Lacoste, Cynthia Steffe, Pamela Love, and Karen Walker, among others, in New York this season. Below, she weighs in on a few of her favorite new faces.

Kirsi Pyrhonen (left) started last season in London and went on to do a few good shows in Paris. She is 16 and is from Finland. She’s never been to New York, so this will be her first season here. She is very striking and unique-looking.

Caroline Brasch Nielsen (center) started last season in Paris. This will be her first season in New York, too. She is 17 years old, from Copenhagen. She has all the elements to make it in everyone’s top list: the right proportions, a great walk, and poise.

Anais Pouliot (right) from Trump has been on people’s radars for some time. She is French and 19 years old. She’s not a part of the elite group yet but I think she’ll do well this season. She is cute and girly, but in an unusual way. I love her pout!

Casting director: Andrew Weir

Model castings can be a black hole in the minds of the fashion press, since most occur very privately, behind closed doors. Luckily enough for us, however, casting director Andrew Weir of ACW Worldwide invited us to observe a massive casting for the Spring 2011 season. Hopping at the chance to see models in their natural habitat, I made sure not to miss this event. Hundreds of girls lined the hallways of the Hudson Hotel, books and heels in hand. Inside the gorgeous Husdon Library, girls were photographed, walked, “scored,” and entered into ACW’s database in a flurry of business and buzz. To the untrained eye it was tough to distinguish which models were the best and which were the worst, until they walked. The best girls had strides long and fast, their hair flying in a self-generated breeze, among them Fashionista faves Ashley Smith, Ann Kenny, and Kirby Kenny.
Andrew Weir found six gems at his casting, sure to be the big stars of Spring 2011. It’s all about that je ne sais quoi for Mr. Weir, as well as finding “strong, beautiful, healthy, magnificent women.”

Richard Chai had the best casting today....

The models line-up at Richard Chai was quite brilliant imo, impeccable balance between newcomers (literally overwhelmed about both Ilva and Chloe getting booked ), new-ish girls (Naomi, Valerija, Ming and Sun Fei Fei) and rather long-lasting ones (heart-warming to see Kamila getting a bit of recognition among all those models.) Personally I could've done without Frida though.

The casting at BCBG doesn't wow me. Still interested in seeing Emily's proper debute on a runway, and maybe Samantha and Julija Step (I suddenly fell for her for some reasons.)

^^ So, give or take, that BCBG cast is pretty much the casting for Max Azria and Herve! :D. They always have the same girls!

It does seem BCBG is a much younger-looking, softer, cast. Plenty of new faces. But I'm still surprised to not see Jac there.

I liked the casting at Cushine et Ochs - does anyone know who cast it?
