Model's Age - How Young Is Too Young?

I think models should starts at 17+.
Younger girls either:
-think its cool to pose in front of a camera like facebook pictures and hear that theyre pretty
-dont know all about the being alone, away from their family, travelling alot, having long days. Or arent ready
-are maybe tall and skinny but arent done growing, and developping, theyll probably have to face the difficulties of keeping their 34" hips.
-arent mature enough, and arent able to deal with a big job and professionals alone. (not even talking about weird and horrible situatuons)

im just tired of hearing about young girls that get the usual " you should model" (because they are tall and thin) from "normal people". Half the time thats all they have. They cant walk, nor are photogenic or they are just too plain, but they believe it and get high hopes. Its sad and annoying.

Well, i think Monika doesn't care anymore about showing some skin or not, she's been modelling since she's 12, i think she's too familar with being nude sometimes to find it strange which is not harmless....

I don't know how it's exactly in Monika's case and i don't want to blame her parents as i don't judge people i don't know but most times in such cases parents are sitting at home and waiting for the next bank cheque especially in poor East European countries. But Poland does't belong to the poor East European states (at least not the Western Part to my knowledge). But often it plays a role which is sad.

I don't think she's exactly been doing nudes, esp. not at 12. Her earliest questionable shoots were those from Singapore - they weren't nude, but had inappropraite and suggestive posing. I think she was 13 or 14.

I don't know about her parents feelings towards her work, but her mother was with her in Singapore (or Japan? or both?).

I just saw a thread with a 13-year-old model wearing an open shirt or a bathing suit shooting sultry looks at a camera. same deal with Jac on that beach when she was 14.

how is that not sexualizing a young girl? I don't care if her parents were there or not... evidently you can capitalize on your children like that and it's perfectly fine.

Same thing for Lyndsey Wixson. She refused a sheer blouse in one show. Very shortly afterwards, given another sheer blouse in another and this time she wore it. Once you are modeling at that level it's pretty well a given that you will be topless. Mind you, changing clothes in a room full of people at a show is probably more difficult to get used to.

Parents may go on a trip, but the photographers don't want them in the studio and they are probably not backstage at a show. The parents trust the agent not to send a girl to anything unacceptable, but the agent probably thinks it's fine. So the parents find out when the pictures arrive.

So, she's too young for fashion modeling if she's not ready to go topless, or undress down to a thong in front of strangers.

I'm surprised that IMG weren't a bit more careful with Jac though, since she seemed like such a star from such a young age.
