Models Who Aren't That Tall

i came across this on whowhatweardaily..

During a recent routine web browsing session, we came across a short and simple fashion forum post about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley that piqued our interest. The note, written way back in the summer of 2004, told the world to, "stay tuned, because this girl will blow you away." At the time of this prophetic message, Huntington-Whiteley was merely a year-deep into her modeling career and completely unknown to us, but the statement has proved to be true. The petite beauty (she's only 5'9", short by industry standards) has not only taken the fashion world by storm, but she's also swanned her way into our good graces too, thanks to her terribly chic personal style.

i've personally thought being at least or over 5'9" is a good standard height? anything under 5'8" may seem short for industry standards.

Definitely not petite. I'm 5'7" so 5'9" to me is not petite at all.

I thought this was an interesting picture to discuss. Pictured L-R: Jessica Stam, Caroline Trentini, Valentina Zelyaeva and Anja Rubik. They're all slouching a bit but there's a notable difference in height, I reckon.

I just saw this pic in Tanya's thread. We all know that her & Alyona are quite tall, and actually I thought that Diana is tall too, but in this pic she looks so tiny next to them

Or maybe Tanya and Alyona are giants, aren't they around 6 ft? Albeit, the footwear may alter their heights a bit, but it looks like Diana's about 5'8"-ish?

I always wondered what male models out there are underheight. I know Oliver Cheshire was around 5'9" - 5'10" according to Select and he had a great standing walking for shows like D&G and Dsquared, along with a Calvin Klein Ad. Ian Somerhalder and Freddie Ljundberg were like 5'9" but they're more of celebrities who modeled for certain brand names. I also speculate that Luke Worrall isn't really 6' according to candids and runway shots. Travis Fimmel is another I read about being like 5'11". It's so interesting to hear about models being underheight, makes them more interesting

I'm quit glad to hear all of this because I always thought because would exaggerate telling me I could be a model with my 5'8. ^^
I was just wondering if they overrate their height they must be lying for their measurements, but do you guys think they tend to make them look smaller or do they put the same old 34-24-34 perfect standard so everyone's the same?

I'm 5'8" and I have a shoe size of 5. So it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

shoe size is most def. related to height. The correlation is very strong, I learned that in first year psychology, BUT it does not determine height, nor does height determine shoe size. Like everything else in the world, some people are the exception.
My mom is 5'1" and has size 8 feet.

I'm 5'6.5" and I have 7.5
I have 2 friends that hit the 6'0" mark, and one has size 10 feet, and the other has size 7.
So, its always different!

I was looking through Marina Perez's photos on style.com and noticed she is significantly shorter than her fellow models.
Like around 5'7"!

yeah...I guess you're right. Taller people tend to have larger feet and vice versa, but there are definitely exceptions...like there are to every rule!
