Models Who Aren't That Tall

i'm 5'6'' and i would love love love to start a revolutionB) . i mean, twiggy was only 5'4'' when she modeled (she grew 2 inches later) and gia was only 5'7''

i know a few people who swear sasha is exactly 5'7'' and i also know others who say she is shorter so its hard to tell

:woot: Viva la short revolution! Twiggy was 5'4"?? Woah..
It's only a matter of time before us tiny models will take over the fashion world (well that's what I'm hoping) ;)

Honestly, I don't think Bianca is 5'7 - if you compare her to other models who claim the 5'7 she is almost always shorter. I'd say she's like 5'5 or 5'6 - she's around the same height as J.Lo.

Some girl (model) on this board said something to the effect of "I'm 5'7.5 and a lot of the models who claim 5'7 only come up to my shoulder" so don't be surprised if there are more short models out there than you think.

I guess if the agency wants you - they will take you.

^^ If someone said that, she's probably exaggerating. Coming up to the shoulder of a 5-7.5 girl would maker her what, 5-4 or 5-3. That's extremely short unless you're talking about petite models, but that would be short even for that.

i would easily believe that Sasha P. is around 5'7. she has a distinctive look where she could get away with being shorter...

don't know if these have been posted (did a search, didn't see them) but they are good for comparison. Freja is about 5'10, so you can get an idea...

^ whoa  that makes it easy...but again, Marina has a look where she could get away with being shorter. some of the models who might not be so successful if they were shorter; Anja Rubik, Caroline Trentini (well, in my opinion :innocent:)

^ i definately agree^_^

like bianca, marina was actually rejected by a lot of agencies too, but because she was considered too "big" so she went and lost weight and got signed. she looks very short on the runways too

That suggests she is about 5'9" - what's wrong with that?

ôh really I thought it says that she's 5'6??I'm sorry I'm not that familiar with the american metric system

no because the intervals are every 6 inches. so the next line up would be 6 ft so she's about 5'8/5'9

thats really cool. i didn't ever know about this thread. I hope the tiny people take over the modelling industry, but if that was the case, then wouldn't a lot of pepole be able the be models, and the competetion be even more feirce? I can't wait until i reach my maximum height, and then I can start looking for modelling, hehehe.

 how could i have missed that?
...it is the line that represents where 5'6 is, not the actual numbers...

lol i missed it at first too..height charts are not usually set up like that..I've never seen one like that in America. And I agree I would love to see short girls taking over..but I think the industry is set up in such a way that exclusivity is very important. If the height standards were not high more people would be able to be models and that feeling of snobish exclusivity would be gone. As much as i hate to say it I think that exclusivity is one of the aspects that makes the business of modeling so attractive to regular people. I may be wrong but I always wondered if it would be something that so many girls (and boys) aspired for if it was a common everyday job. What do you guys think?
