i really think most models are not as tall as they say....

hana is 181 cm and much taller than the other models, which i would say are average height

I think Hana is higher than 181 but actualy it depends on how models are standing. In some pics Hana is a bit higher than Eugenia and in some, much higher

I remember in the Vanity Fair article with all the Russian models, the writer mentioned that Hana was the tallest. Oh, Bianca Balti is supposedly quite short but I think she's probably been mentioned around this thread.

I'd say Hana is definitely over 6'. It is more a question of how much over ...

Average model, I'd say, is (really) 5'9".

Irina lazarenau has a twin (not identical) who is only 158 cm
she can't be that much taller

As to Bianca, yes, she has been mentioned a couple of pages back, with people's opinions ranging from as short as 5'5-5'6 to 5'7-5'8...

I agree that she's on the shorter side, rather... I think she's about the same as Isabeli Fontana, who's 5'7-5'8...

I have worked at a modeling agency and I can assure you that the average model is at least 5'9". They're not all lying about their height. Most of the girls are really tall. Of course there are some exceptions, but agencies only sign really amazing girls who are 5'8" or less. Bianca is probably 5'7" and her face is flawless and she is very thin so she can look taller. Lydia is a socialite and has the Hearst name. Kate Moss is gorgeous and thin also. But for the most part models are tall.

And Kate Moss probably discovered Irina by meeting her through Pete Doherty and then introducing Irina to agents and photographers.

To clear up. Irina know pete. Pete started to go out with kate and then kate and irina become friends. Irina was already modelling ( she did peter som fw2004 and another show) but kate invited her as a guest at a photoshoot for a magazine since then she's a famous model. Ok?

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like height is a lot less of an issue this year on the catwalk? Ruslana and Mona seem to be doing quite well so far, and Emanuela (says she's 5'9 on the Marilyn site, but she says she is "quiet short" in one of the issues of Teen Vouge) has booked quiet a few shows so far. I think the signifigance of height is going down because of the fashion industrys desperate need of something hot... and, thanks to Kate Moss and Twiggy, they realize that the hottest thing may not be 6 feet tall!

i think that model industry understand that short models are more signifiant because they are more representative of the society. By the way if you look clearly. Models who got conventional height can do great on the modelling industry but they can't be Successfull and popular if you see what i mean ( being a celebrity)

I think that the average model is probably between 5'8-5'9.

These days the fashion industry is desperate for something different, regardless of how tall she is- they really need renewed interest in fashion by the mainstream, or fashion is really, really going to suffer (more than it already has). That's probably why they resorted to the older models for the ads and edits these days; the old girls are automatic bank. If Hana Sokupova can't sell it, then give it to Carolyn Murphy, Christy Turlington, or someone else who can.
